DVD burner not buring the entire file

I have been trying to burn a DVD with 4 episodes of a TV Show totaling maybe 3 hours with 7.3 G file size
My ripper can ripp the entire DVD but everytime I try to burn it will only burn 2 or maybe 2 1/2 episodes I can't get the entire file.
I'm using DL -R with 8.5 G and I have tried differnt brands of DVDs and different burning software

What else can I try?
Thanks

How can two 2-Hour movies (totalling 4 hours) have more information than 6 hour long episodes?

The structuring of a Television episode is different than a movie. The pacing is different as well. The only way to hold more information in 6 hour long episodes than 4 hours worth of a movie would be for every episode to end abruptly and begin right where the last one left off. Which just doesn't work well for TV. Every episode has to have an arc. A beginning, a climax and an end. While it's not uncommon to have a cliffhanger ending it is still done to a certain structure.

A DVD is a form of storage media 12 cm (4.72 inches) or 8 cm (3.15 inches) across that can typically hold 4.7 gigabytes (GB) of information, enough to hold a three-hour movie at high quality, or ten TV episodes, or about 75 hours of .mp3 files, or roughly 15 hours of video in the lower-grade .avi format. The DVD is thought of as the successor to the conventional CD (compact disk). Common formats include DVD-R and DVD-RW, a rewritable version of the DVD.

Ihave made a DVD of a TV series and the menu for the episodes appears onscreen but I only seem to have the option of playing episode one....how would I jump to a different episode?

Back in 2012, I had what I think was the same issue, an entire series, with only the 1st "starting" title. Easiest solution is to just write down the episode starting time of each one, and just enter that time to advance to that episode, or if you don't have that option, just fast forward it to the time on your sheet of paper or whatever.

My brother found me a "TRIAL" program called "ULTRA VIDEO SPLITTER" really cool which easily does what you want to do, that is divide your 4 or 6 hour, or whatever it is, enter menu titles, the works. The one I had was "ULTRA VIDEO SPLITTER 6.3.0206" from "AONE" Software. I do not know if it is still available. If not maybe one of it's cousins is!. Good Luck! (Man I said "whatever" too much! Oh well, whatever)

I can't burn 2Gb even though my DVD is 4,7 Gb

The size of the file in MB. does not equal what is burned onto the disk. 4 x 600 = 2400 MB. but what is burned to the disk is usually more than what the file size equals. Try using a dual-layer blank disk and see what happens.

Nero DVD burning Burning problem

Devil is in the details...

1. What O/S are you on?
2. What make and model of PC are you using?
3. What is the burner you are using (make and model)?
4. Most importantly, what kind of files are you burning? (ie, .avi, .mpg, .wmv, etc.). Codec information is very helpful here. Use GSpot to get the codec the vid was encoded it: http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

So it begins!

Sony DVD RW AW-Q170A Burning Problem Plzzz.....Help me out: i have two drives, 1) Sony DVD RW AW-Q170A 1.70 Ver 2) Sony DVD/CD-RW Combo RYK4 Ver My "Sony DVD RW...

Check that the writable DVDs you are using are compatible (+/-) with your Sony DVD-RAM.
Go to Windows Explorer and check to see if the Sony drive is visible. It may not be connected or the Jumper switch may be set incorrectly.
Check you have drivers installed, take a look in Hardware manager.
Sometimes, it's a little difficult to copy CDs and DVDs when you have more than one burning suite installed - for some reason, they 'just don't get along'. Try uninstalling any suites other than Nero.
Or it may just be that your Sony CD-RW drive is just that, and your DVD-RW drive is just that. So it wouldn't be possible to write DVDs on the CD-RW and CDs on the DVD-RW? Though I would assume Nero would detect that and use your hard-drive as temporary storage.
In Nero SmartStart, have you selected the CD or DVD tab to correspond to the project you're burning?

Dvd burner problem

This problem sounds to lie in the software. May I suggest trying a different burning program. Also you may want to search NERO's documentation on this issue.
