Hi,
Maybe, the way to figure that would be the 20 amp draw of the unit times the 120 volts that the unit runs on which gives you a wattage of like 2400 watts...that is really very close to the max output of the inverter and it may cause it to over heat...

Unit is overheating.
1. Check fans are running. and unit is in a cool place where air can flow freely.
2. If fans not working try using an external fan to see if the OCP error goes way.

Reduce the load on the outlets (Disconnect some stuff i possible)

Is it a 3000 watt generator? Is it a generator running a 3000 watt appliance? Be more specific. What generator? What is it running?

First, make sure you fuel is fresh. Clean the carburetor thoroughly, that means take it off the generator, take it apart and clean all the little orifices, channels and jets of all the gunk a carb gets in it from sitting, bad gas and just because it is there. Reassemble and test it on the generator with fresh fuel.

Microwave wont run with a 1500 watt inverter why

Depending on the model of the microwave it could draw more wattage than what is put out by the inverter. Don't forget there is a inital spike when your unit first starts and that although an inverter might be listed at 1500 wat that is the maximum and will depend on how much power the inverter is getting in, so if the engine is not putting out enough power the inverter will not put out a full 1500.

My SW 3000 Invert/Charger works fine at the dock on shore power but will not charge or let the AC pass through the unit on my Genset. The genset runs everything else on the vessel including a 19000 BTU Air...

I have the same problem but on an intermittent basis. The first time it happened the tech suggested resetting the default settings and it came on immediately. However the problem has been reoccuring from time to time and I now have no confidence in my one month old unit.

a very thick one,,,like a baby battery lead on your car,,,its a very bad idear to have it so far away from the battery point, you would be far better off finding a closer place to put it as the volts drop off would have a big drop in out put on the inverter,,,also thats one big mother of a fridge to use 3000 watts????
you need a small power station to run it,,and if it do use 3000 watts your inverter is far to small to do the job, read the out put plate on the inverter,,it says 3000 watts max? not all the time,,,,thats about 2000 watts realy running contently and the whire to feed the inverter will need to carry about 30 amps so your car battery is say 90 amp hours plus the volts drop off, you would be lucky to have the inverter running for 3-4 hours before your battery go's is very flat on you!

your inverter needs to cool at all times , if the fan does not work,try buying a small standing fan to blow cool air to you machine, it is possible that your heater is making the inverter to over heat please avoid using the heater on the inverter
