Yes. #16 black cartridge is compatible with Lexmark X1270 printer. Other compatible cartridges are: #17 (black), #26 (color) and #27 (color). Hope this helps.

HP A636 will not print yellow; tricolor cartridge is new

  • Align the print cartridge.
The printer automatically aligns the print cartridge after a new one is installed. You can also align the print cartridge at other times to ensure optimal print quality. Indications that you need to align the print cartridge manually include borderless prints with white space
along an edge, colors not printing satisfactorily, or poor print quality.

To align the print cartridge from the printer
  1. Load a sheet of HP Advanced Photo Paper in the input tray.
  2. Touch the Setup icon to display the Setup menu. For more information, see "Setup Menu" on page 16.
  3. Touch Cartridge.
  4. Touch Align Cartridge and follow the prompts.

Clean the print cartridge automatically.
If the printed pages are missing lines or dots or contain ink streaks, the print cartridge might be low on ink or need to be cleaned.
CAUTION: Clean the print cartridge only when necessary.
Unnecessary cleaning wastes ink and shortens the life of the cartridge.

  • Clean the cartridge.
Follow these steps to clean the cartridge automatically:
To clean the print cartridge from the printer,
  1. Touch the Setup icon to display the Setup menu. For more information, see "Setup Menu" on page 16.
  2. Touch Cartridge.
  3. Touch Clean Cartridge and follow the prompts.
If the documents are still missing lines or dots after cleaning, replace the print cartridge.

When I get ready to print it is saying that the cartridges are missing and I have replaced both cartridges and also I put the old ones back in and it is still saying the same thing.

What cartridge versions(model #) are you using? Make sure you are using genuine Lexmark cartridges. Cartridges for the X1150 are black: #16 or #17 and color: #26 or #27. Try to remove the cartridges from your printer. Close the cover. Unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and make sure they are properly inserted and secured in the cartridge carrier. Close the cover and try to print again. If error continues, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

It will not print boldly ,it is very faint, yet I thought the ink cartridge was pretty new.It has been in storage for about 16 months though

The cartridges for these printers have a limited lifespan, the ink can dry up after a while which is the result of your feint printing. You can remove the cartridge and try cleaning the tip using a cotton bud (or q-tipp) with just a little warm water. Ensure it is dry before placing back in the printer. If you still have feint printing then alas you need a new cartridge.

16 toner low

A laser printer needs toner to print, when this runs out the printer will print either blank or very faint images.
You need to replace the toner cartridge with a new one or a re-manufactured toner cartridges. Re-manufactured toner cartridges are cheaper than new toner cartridges for your model printer.

You can get a few more prints out of your toner cartridge by removing the toner cartridge from the printer and giving it a few horizontal shakes then place it back into the printer.

I own a Lexmart x75 all in one printer. I have been using #16 ink cartridges. Can I use #17? and what is the difference?

You can use the Lexmark #17 if you would like to pay even more for your ink. The #16 cartridge is the high capacity version of the #17. A Lexmark 16 should have 12mL ($3.06/mL) of ink while the 17 should have only 7mL($3.42/mL). Also be aware that the ink used in these cartridges will suffer from water evaporation quite quickly. If you do not print a lot, the water will evaporate and leave behind an ink sludge that will not print. We do not recommend Lexmarks for those who only print occasionally.

Cyan is offset about 3/16"

check the locking tabs on the cartridge, sounds like they are not locking down the cartridge.

Black ink cartridge - won't print

It is not unusual to receive a bad cartridge. The ink or the fiber in those cartridges are subject to blocking ( drying) while not in use.
That would be the most likely problem.
