My mp3 player will turn on when its pluged in but when i unplug it it turns off

Some MP3 just do that sometimes Have you teyd altering the settings on the MP3 player it could be the power options it could also be the sync option like some times it will say in the options sleep when transfering media.

What version of windows do you have? XP and Vista should work with built in drivers. If you have 98 or ME, you would need a mass storage driver that it appears RCA themselves dont provide.
Try this with the MP3 player plugged in.

Right Click on My Computer and select Manage
Expand the System Tools tab if needed
Select Device Manager

Look for any object with a yellow circle/black exclamation mark

If you see one for the MP3 player, right click, select properties, go to the
driver tab, then click uninstall.

Then, unplug and reconnect the MP3 player and reinstall.

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturers website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

If when you plug into usb cable dose it show that a device was pluged in ? If it dosen't turn on then youre charging cable is bad. If cable isn't bad remove software from youre computer using remove programs, unplug opal from usb then reboot youre software for youre rca opal cd.

if you are trying to use it while it's pluged in, it might not work because some mp4s and mp3s dont work while they're charging. but the zodiac mp4 should run while it's plugged in... if it's not turning on at all while it's unpluged, maybe try to plug it in for an hour or two and if its still not turning on or if its showing no signs that it was charged, i would try maybe getting a new battery or contacting the company
