What does a code o6 mean on a Whirlpool Calypso top load washing machine.

This means Instantaneous current overload.

This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector or motor controller. Overloading the washing machine may cause this.

C-A means average current limit trip or an overcurrent of 5.55 amps on the motor w2indings which means there can be issues with the motor controller,thermal protector,or the drive motor itself,press stop/cancel to clear the code,then try running smaller wash loads as to large a load can trigger this condition

CA means average current limit . this may signify problems with drive motor or motor controller over loading the washer may cause this problem. to clear this-press stop /cancel

I would check the water inlet valve first. Unplug the machine, turn off the water, and remove the supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the openings on the valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris and check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity will mean a bad solenoid and the inlet valve assy will need replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Junk it! Cut you losses now. I had a Calypso for 6 years and went through 3 pumps, various circuit boards , a drive motor ,etc..... not to mention the down time of not having a washer in a 4 person household. We bought a Whirlpool Duet HT 9200. Clean , fresh laundry not all balled up anymore. Junk it. You'll thank me.
