I have bought a N86 8MP from england which belongs to 3g. I live in Pakistan and whenever I insert sim it displays a message that sim card not valid. Please let me know how to unlock my country code???

do as it says you need a valid SIM to restore an iphone and it is possible to have a SIM go bad. There is nothing that can be done until your sim is infact working and valid and it MUST be an AT&T sim no other sim will work for restore.

Mate...same thing happen to me. I put in 3 different sim cards which all work on my other phone. So, try fiddling with the plated contact on the sim card holder (lack of other term for it). I just raised the contacts a bit, making sure there is good contact between the sim card and the leads. Works fine now. Good luck.

be careful not to raise the pin to high or the pins might snap.

You will need to take it to a phone store and get it unlocked it is locked to a uk network.

I think it is the problem with SIM card. Please try to insert the SIM card in another phone and you may be getting same error or messages like 'SIM card not valid'. If this is the case rquest a SIM replacement from your provider
