Hello
The voice coil of your speaker is scratching with its magenet body inside. It can't be repaired. Whatever we do will go in vein. there is no possibility other than replacing this speaker. Some people will recone it, but qulaity cannot be assured. it will sound; but with respect to the other speaker, it won't match. Coil position, resistance, number of turns per unit length ete are determining the magnetic strenth of the coil, and therby sound. Wharfedale eill have its secret, and they wont give it out, as they have gained it with tremndous reserch.
So in my opinion, it will be best for you to replace the damaged speaker with and other one of same type and number. All details will be printed on its body. Buy the original one. Do not compromise. Woofers are the heart of any sound system. Keep this in mind. OK.
This is a 3-way speaker; specifically which speakers do you hear something from and which speakers do you hear nothing from? If the woofer amplifer is blown, for example, you will hear nothing from the woofers, but will hear sound from the midrange speakers and the tweeter.
If the rip is small enough, try using nailpolish to repair it. If you're looking at a piece of the material that's actually missing, you should just replace the woofer, because adding a patch will severely reduce sound quality.
Ebay sell Cerwin Vega Surround (rubber bit) replacements. If he has ripped the cone too, appart from replacing his back legs with wheels (joke!), contact Cerwin Vega directly and they will send you out a new "driver". These are easily fitted at home by any one with a screwdriver
These sound like they a JBL speaker. 1. You will need the impedence and diameter spec and the Hz (hertz) specifications to get a replacement set. you can call JBL Altec-Lansing is the company that manufacturer this series of speaker.\ On the back of you speaker cabinet should be a phone number to the company or check the user manual that you received with the speaker system and they should be able to give full information on how to replace the speaker in question or where to have it repaired. The cabinet is glued together and will need a cabinet expert to disassemble. Contact JBL for more information.
YES, WHERE CAN I GET THE 3 PRONGED CABLE TO CONNECT MY SOUND CARD TO THE INPUTSON THE BACK OF MY BA7800 SPEAKER SYSTEM, OR JUST MAKE MY OWN WITH 3 GOLD TIPPED 1/8" CONNECTOR WIRES?
To fix this problem, you will need to contact Velodyne.
They may be able to replace the surround or recone this driver.
Because this system has the "servo" control, you need to have the accelerometer conected to the amplifier. With out it, the amplifier will not operate.
If you can get the same woofers, then yes you should be OK, pull the units, get the part number off the back and then try Google for a source. If you can't find a exact replacement then you are looking at replacing all of the woofers, rule of thumb is that you do not want to mix speakers, you end up having one speaker sounding different than the other, so what ever you do to one, you need to do to the other. In that way what tonal changes that happen will happen to both speakers and they remain matched.
Now if you need to find replacements, you need to replace with like impedance speakers, and try to find a speaker very similar to what you are replacing. Just don't throw anything in the cabinet, if the impedance isn't correct not only the sound could be bad, but you could also damage your Amp or Receiver.
