" uunnu" What kind of "comp" do you have ? What kind of o/s[operating system- Windows XP, ME, 98] Was there sound before "someone" did something to it ?Do u have the speakers plugged into the right port [the sound card or the connections in back of the computer that are labeled "sound" or "audio" ? goto the "control panel"\sound icon(picture of speaker) and u will see a menu of things that windows will make a sound if u press the arrow facing right (to play the sound) Touch a action, for an example [windows_exit] and the arrow should turn dark, press the darkened arrow and play that sound. If the arrow does not get dark, u have not installed the program that makes the sound work. Please send me more information, I am trying to grab at spider web pitch black night..

The temperature will not adjust. none of the refrigerators are getting cold but fans are running

Sounds like you may have a compressor issue to me. if the fans are running that tells me the tstat is calling for cooling and the fans are running so they are fine. The comp is not producing cooling for some reason. Can you see the comp and tell if its running or not?

What type of video card may I order to go in this unit

hi, im new with the whole computer knowledge but i have done some research seeing as i have this comp as well. just like me your needing to upgrade the comp to be more sufficient and up to par with todays upgrades seeing as this comp is old and prolly got it at Best Buy. but if your going to do some heavy media, gaming etc. i suggest getting a new comp that is up to date with todays changes. only reason why is the video card you require for this comp is a PCI which i have read is the lowest quality and probably soon to be obsolete that many programs dont support anymore. dont get me wrong you can still buy them, but dont expect high quality performance. remember you need a PCI not PCI Express (PCIE) to fit the slot that your motherboard has. ive done alot of searches for PCI video cards, i suggest just to google it or check im still actually looking around myself. im sure if you have this comp your also looking for an inexpensive part. anyways i hope this helped.

my upgrades are:
500 hard drive
60 slave
2g memory

The fridge/freezer is making buzzing noises that go on for 10/15 seconds every 5 minutes or so. Both fridge and freezer have heated up to 49 and 26 degrees through the night. Help!

ur compressor is trying to start but the safety is turning it off may have a bad compressor but try this first might get it working again -(safety click sound) disconnects power when compressor gets to hot or is drawing to many amps--stuck--comp gets hot unplug unit and clean with a vacuum carefully under where comp and fan are this is the condenser area after cleaning or 1 hr plug in and check for start and that condenser fan is working may be reason for overheating-if still not working compressor needs service
