I am having a problem with my sandisk 2.0gb flashdrive. I put it in my USB port and my pc recognizes it and everything, it is lit, etc. However when I go to my computer and double click on my h drive and it comes back that the h drive is not accessible and the semaphore timeout period has expired. Any suggestions on how I can get my files off of the drive? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
I get the same error when I right click it to view the files. Tried that :) Can I pick your brain for any other solution?? Then after I get that the timeout period has expired, my pc freezes and I have to bring up the task mgr and end the task. Could this have anything to do with the amount of memory I have? Thanks!!I get the same error when I right click it to view the files. Tried that :) Can I pick your brain for any other solution?? Please try to put it in the back USB ports of your CPU if it works OK or else test it in another PC if it works in other PC then the problem is in your PC if still problem exists please take it to the service center
Sometimes windows XP doesn't install the driver to recognize your USB ports. For example, a fresh install of XP does not contain any driver for sound or graphics. The best way is to update your windows XP up to Service Pack 3 by installing SP1 and SP2... etc, it will take a looooooooong time, but your PC would be better.
To check whether or not you have any USB drivers install just go to control panel and then device manager. Look for Universal Serial Bus (USB)
I had the same exact problem on my 8G card. It worked fine in the camera, but when I plugged it into the card reader it flashed once and then the light went off. So, I put the card back in the camera and ran a USB cable from my camera (there was a port on the side of my Cannon Powershot that was smaller than a USB, but I don't know what to call it) to my computer. When I turned the camera power on, the computer was able to read the 8G card while it was inside the camera. I downloaded everything to my computer at that point. Hope this helps! I got the chord from my external hard drive and that fit from the camera to the computer.
