I have a Midland CB Car with no mike or a car power pluge, the model # is 70 - 336B and the serial # is 760408

Your midland CB will use a standard 4 pin wired CB plug which is most common for most mics sold today. Your power cord will be a standard 3 pin CB power cord which again is most common with CB's today. You need not purchase a "radio specific" cord or mic. Cobra, Uniden, Midland all the same mic pin out and power cords. Good luck.

Plug power cord to radio and the radio try's to come on but it won't even light up.? I know the power cord is hot.

Hi radams58

I have seen this one before and it can be aggravation I recommend replacing the the plug on the wire and in the radio so it will be less of an issue in the future. I have gotten where I almost hate an export power plug for this reason. I would be sure that the local cb shop can supply both of these items at a reasonable price.

Hello, I dusted off my old Cobra 2000 GTL and plugged it into the wall and it will not power on. The clock is on and adjustable. It was last working before I boxed it up a few years back. Is this a known...

Try this, plug it all up and turn it on, let it set over night, then try it, after a radio has been put away for a while, the capacitors lose charge...hope this was helpful....

Excessive static equally on all chanels on cb

You should always connect the CB directly to the battery as the accessory socket is full of noise. You also should choose a better antenna as these small glass mounts cannot hear signals well and magnify local noise. AM (CBs) radios naturally pick up noise as it is the nature of AM signals. Use your squelch to lesson this but too much can knock out you reception.

Im looking for a plug to put in a wall socket and im trying to use an older cobra29 cb radio. Can you help?

Hey AlexJacob

a mobile cb radio like the cobra 29 requires 12V DC, to plug the radio into the wall you need a Power Supply. A small 5 amp power supply will help you. Their is no plug that goes Directly from a Mobile CB rado into a wall. You will need to plug a power supply into the wall, Then take the power chord (red and black with 3 prong [o oo] and connect red to red on the power supply and black to black on the power supply. Unfortunatly a cheap power supply will be $50+ check your local radioshack

Radio wont light up

Check the inline power fuse first/or replace it! If that does'nt work then next make sure the radio is in the operating possition on the switches labeled>cb/pa< to cb mode. If this does'nt work then you may have a wire from your power plug inside the radio broken loose or a blown diode. If in fact the wire is connected inside the radio the diode would be my next guess. This happens when the polarity of the radio is reversed(hooked up backwards). This can be fixed relativley easy at your local radio shop for about 30$. Good Luck.

High swr ch. 1- 5 and ch. 40 - 5

This is a common problem in CB's. You can either get the radio tuned properly or tune the antenna. Sometimes the CB will put out more power on a channel than is needed and this could end up in a damaged radio. You can get the radio tuned to prevent the RADIO from high SWR, or you can tune the ANTENNA so tha antenna will better suit your CB's power.

Hope this helps!

Radio Shack trc-241 CB won't power up on battery pack.

that should not hurt it, that would be the same as turning off the vehicle while the radio is on. which is not a problem.... check the fuse. maybe it blew when the vehicle went back on. or maybe check the actual plug itself.

Modification of frequency output of uniden pro 510xl

deweyp, hi, if you are wanting to turn the power up some on the radio, do this; tune L4, L5, L6, L9 for
maximum RF forward output. There are 2 versions of the radio, and both are listed as 510xl. If you are wanting to expand the freq's or add channels, then no, there is no mod for that radio. If your going to tune the radio for more power, make sure you have a power meter to watch the output. It is preferable to tune into a dummy load so your not broadcasting over the air. You tune the radio for peak output, using a steady awwww sound in to the mic. Just be careful as that radio has a fairly small driver and final transistor. Don't want to let the factory smoke out of it,,,
Here is what the little variable adjustments are for and what they control;
VR1 Squelch
VR2 TX Meter
VR3 RX Meter
VR4 RX IF Gain
Hope this helps you out, let us know,, Mechanic
