RCA RT2600 sound problems

Hi. After about 6 years without a problem I suddenly cannot get any sound from my RT2600 receiver. None of my components will produce sound (DVD, SAT, SIRIUS RADIO, Wii, iPOD, etc.) Nothing. All the wires inside and out are still connected properly. Also, it is set to the correct digital input category (ie. analog) AND mute is not activated.
Any suggestions?

I shall try that, thanks. No, my speakers do not hum, just dead silence. Also, forgot to mention that my headphones worked in the phones jack.

OK, left it for an hour or so; plugged it back in and nothing. Still no sound.

I've already opened it up and everything looks/feels tight and no evidence (by sight or smell) of burning. Is there a fuse involved with the speaker/sound processor?

Left it off over night, still didn't work. Here are some pictures to help (maybe). Still can't see any connection problems or evidence of a burned board.

You should first try unplugging it for 30 minutes and that should reset it and has fixed the problem on other ones before.

Also, do the speakers hum at all or is it dead silence?

Thank you for further comments to my question.

Have a Good Day.

sounds like the same problem as one other guy then since the jack still works too, please let me know how it goes

well then it sounds like there might be a broken connection to the speaker output from where the jack and the speaker output split off to the output. You will need to open the system and check for loose connections and see if anything smells burnt.

If you don't feel comfortable doing this, then DON'T.

Have someone who has worked with electronics work on it.

If you follow the connection from the output to the board, you will be able to find the problem whether it be a fuse or what, Have you been playing this at a louder setting.

Could you post a picture of the wiring at all for me and maybe I can spot something?

I believe there are two fuses, you should try replacing them and see if that helps at all. Are you positive there isn't a loose connection? I don't see anything wrong from here, possibly try a gentle shake and see if anything moves that shouldn't and then try it again too.

Multiple Video Sources hooked to RT2600, but only DVD shows

I own the RCA RT2600 Home Theater System. I have never set it up, it has never been used. I have someone who wants to buy just the receiver and nothing else. I am wondering what you paid for just the receiver? I don't want to break up the system but I need money right now. I am open to suggestions as to what to do and how much to sell them for.

Thank-you

I've found an RCA RT-2600 HT for $10. Receiver showed "overload", now won't power. It's also missing a rear speaker. Is the receiver fixable? If not, what receivers are compatible w/the subwoofer? ...

There may be a fuse inside the cover. I replaced the 2 front and 2 rears with pioneer S-HF21-lR 2 way,100 watters. they are bookshelf size speakers, but trust me they rock. you wont be disappointed. im pwering them with a sony receiver. no problem. if its a typical rca sub, its non powered and will work with about any receiver.
