Big scratch on outer layer of glass

There should be a diagram of the sim card where you put it in. If its too big remove the outer layer and try to insert it. If its still too big remove the 2nd outer layer.

There is a solution. If you brought this to my shop I would replace the film (depending upon availability). Absolute worst case is replacing the screen (costly). Of course this is my shop, you'll need to take it to a reputable repair person. Sorry

This set has 3 screens---the outer one is really only for glare--clear plexigalss--no longer available from Sony.

You would have to either have someone dismantle or do it yourself---most of these sets you have to remove all three screens from the rear of the set---then remove the outer contrast one if it is scratched or cracked--

If you get it out and measure it: It is possible you may be able to find a company who can cut you a plexi-glass piece to replace it with--lots of work to do this and you have to use extreme care when you remove the two inner screens--easy to damage them---Usually the inner two are taped along all the edges to keep dust etc from getting between them and the front one is a short distance forward of them.

The front protective screen is really only there for glare and to protect the inner screens from damage---I have seen people who had a cracked outer one just dismantle and remove that one---put the others back and use the set that way---have to be careful as the inner screens are easy to scratch or damage with the outer one removed.

Also---I have seen several where someone removed the outer one and got a piece of plexi glass big enough to put on the outside of the front of the set---secured all around the edges with velcro--does not look as good as the original but prevents glare and protects the inner screens.

i think there will some sractes on the scanner glass those scartchs are very minute and you will not be able to see it that is why you get pictures scratched and and you can also try this clean the scanner glass with wet cloth dont rub it hard clean it very softley and use it again if the problem is still their change the glass and once you changed it dont allow the scanner glass to get damged again with scatches protect it very well keep it away from dust particals when you dont use it cover the entire scanner with a big cloth to prvent dust and also put a white paper over the glass when you are not using it and you can also put a transpernt plastic cover over the glass to prevent straches when you are doing scanning foolow this and avoid such problems in the future thats all....

hello, if there is a scratch on your reflective outer glass panel screen, it can be replaced if you are handy with tools or diy i happen to have the screen removal manual for this tv model th42pz700u you dont have to dissasemble the tv just the outer front housing remove the back panel and theres some screws that hold the front casing on those come of and the front refelctive glass can be removed without any trouble or dissasembly of the internals just the front casing
you may need to find a selling as is plasma tv with a broken internal screen usually they are this way that outer screen dosent break easily so unless you want to pay 489 for this reflective glass part i would try and find a 'for parts or repair 42 inch pany' they will fit if they are the same size make sure the outer screen is not broken or scratched. hope this help
