Re: Natural Gas to Propane
Yes you will need to buy the orifice to convertit to propane.
After you install the orifice, you will need to also adjust the manifold pressure with a monometer. And you will also need to put the stickers on the gas valve that will state that this unit has been converted for use with propane. If you have any other questions feel free to comment back.

Hi there! You need to order a gas valve conversion kit (from nat to propane), propane pilot orifice and propane burner orifice, Gas valve conversion kit consists of a replacement spring thicker than of natural gas valve spring, gas valve cap and a sticker. Pilot orifice for propane has smaller bore than of natural. Burner orifice for propane has also smaller bore than of natural burner orifice (one for each burner). You will be able to find these parts on the list of Pitco Distributor when you visit http://www.pitco.com Regards.
Hi there. You can visit http://www.imperialrange.com , you can verify there the correct parts list for the model of your fryer for the conversion from natural to propane and you will be able to search there the nearest authorized parts and service provider in your area. You will be needing burner orifice for propane, pilot orifice for propane (if available, if not, the whole pilot assembly), Gas valve spring for propane (if available, if not, the whole gas valve for propane). Regards.
Burner orifice size for propane gas is number 55. You have to replace all burner orifice with this size if you want to use the fryer with propane gas. Pilot burner orifice should be replaced with propane pilot orifice. The gas valve spring should also be replaced with propane spring kit. The difference between the two spring is the natural gas spring is lighter or thinner compare with the propane gas valve spring.
The difference between Natural Gas Set Up and Propane Gas Set Up on Fryers are as follows: Natural gas burner orifice has larger bore (#52) than Propane Gas burner orifice (#55 or #56). Gas Valve's spring kit for natural gas has less tension (thinner) than Propane. You have to order burner orifice ( the quantity depends on the number of burners your fryer has), pilot orifice and Gas Valve Spring Kit for Propane Gas if your fryer is set for Natural Gas or vice versa.
check the supplier for the conversion kit.the kit contains burner orifice, pilot orifice and gas valve spring which are commonly needed for conversion from propane to natural gas or from natural gas to propane. ****natural gas orifice has larger bore than propane, gas valve spring for propane is thicker than for natural gas.
Apparently, Weber does not make a conversion kit to convert the grill from propane or from natural gas to propane. According to the Owners Manual - "Liquid propane gas is not natural gas. The conversion or attempted use of natural gas in a liquid propane unit or liquid propane gas in a natural gas unit is dangerous and will void your warranty." (From Page # 3 of the Owners Manual)
You need to change the gas valve, burner orfices, pilot and maybe a gas regulator.I service these fryers often as im a hobart tech.Goto hobartcorp.com,type in your model and the parts list.Any ? let me know.
