I have a 3.5HP 11 gallon compressor. Recently it made strange sounds while in use with my finish nail gun. I unplugged it and finished the job with the pressure left in the tank. After a day of rest, I...

Oil-less compessors have sealed bearings within the motor and at the piston rod journal. These bearings do wear and dry out causing noise. Replace the rod bearing as needed (the motor bearings too difficult, expecially front). The piston has a vinyl/teflon ring and wears over time (piston/cylinder kit not expensive) . The condition of the cylinder can be determined by the length of time the unit takes to fill and shut off. One should note the time to fill when new, then compare as unit wears (from a few minutes to up to ten when worn). Good luck

Magenta toner smearing and there is also a line down the middle of the page

This is most likely due to a problem - like a crack - with the scraper on the drum cartridge that keeps the photoconducter clean. You should probably have that replaced, and replace the drum as well. FWIT, you should never touch the photoconductive surface of the drum - you can damage it, or leave fingerprints on it that will affect the print quality.

Here's the link to the Lexmark website for instructions on how to install the photoconductor and resetting its page count on a Lexmark X340n. http://bit.ly/c66dvv. If 84 Replace Photoconducter message is still on the display after performing the steps, refer to this link on how to reset the photoconductor page count. http://bit.ly/bm3XBm. If all else fails, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.

995 engine error everytime we try and print

it is in reference to the photoconducter cartridge.

1. shut off power to printer. Pull your photoconducter unit out and check the position of the black marker located on the edge of the tranferbelt. I know one time I was fortunate enough to fix this error by rotating the photoconducter belt so that the marker was in a different position. Becareful not to touch the photoconducter belt (green shiny part) if at all posible. Reinstall the unit and power up.

2. If the above trick doesn't fix it after turning the printer off for a few minutes and you still get the same error when printing... You will have to replace the photoconducter unit.

tell me incase any issues

Disconnected printer

If the lights are solid -
The error is caused by a defective cartridge, an unsupported cartridge, an invalid refill, or a cartridge meant to be used in another geographic region.

• If the print cartridge is not installed, install it.
• If the print cartridge is installed, remove it and install a new print cartridge.

If the lights are flashing
This means the photoconducter kit needs replacing
