Hi ladytuts.

One reason may be that you don't have the tv plugged into a surge suppresor. If you don't have one, its advisable to get one, as lcd's/plasmas are quite susceptible to small power spikes.

Try unplugging the tv for one hour, then plug it in and see if the tv corrects its own issues.

If that does not resolve the issue, pay attention to the number of times the power light blinks before shutting off. Thats usually a 'fault code' for troubleshooting a more indepth problem with the machine.

SOURCE: tv keeps shutting off and going back on by itself

Faulty parts on PS board , bad press for Samsung
When checking the capacitors, If they are slightly rounded on the top where the X is, the cap is defective.
Because the Samsung LNS4051D would not turn on and the power
LED would blink 4 times and the relay would click and this
would repeat again and again. I replaced power supply board
parts CM806, 811, 812 & 817, all 1000 uf 10v capacitors,
three had their tops bulged up slightly that I missed on
initial visual inspection. After seeing the reports of
problems with these caps on
http://www.fixya.com/support/t1336881-will_not_turn_or_off ,
I replaced them with Radio Shack part 272-1032, 1000 uf, 35v.
They are slightly bigger, but fit OK. TV is working fine now.
Cost was 4 x $1.59 = $6.36 plus the time. I saved between
$100 to 300 in the process of either replacing the board or
getting the unit serviced. If you are not comfortable
replacing components which means using a soldering iron, you
can replace the power circuit board, available from
www.Samsung.PartStore.com.

I have a 61 inch samsung TV. A message flashed across the screen saying "check fan # 1 " then a few minutes later it shut down.

Hello
Not much to do by web, this message mean you most likely need a new fan, tv shuts down due to overheating. Contact service.

Lines down screen

We have a Samsung LE32A457, whilst we were watching T.V tonight the top halve of the screen suddenly appeared with green lines halfway down the screen and that half of the picture was unwatchable, T.V is 2 years old. We have removed all scart leads but this did not help and the problem still exists, when shutting down a white horizontal line across the centre of the screen appears from this line upwards the picture is faulty. Any help or advice would be grateful.

Hi. I have a bright streak going down the front

Ok, this is a classic LCD fault, unfortunately, your Screen "Element" has gone faulty. There is NO repair, replacement of said "Element" IE: The LCD Screen. This is an expensive repair. In my professional opinion, you need to take it to a Samsung, authorised, service venter, then ask for a "Quote" for repair, that way you can be appraised of costings and you can determine as to repair or replace.

Magnevox 42" plasma screen problem

It is your lower y main buffer # 996500032640 or use the Samsung one "same but costs less" BN96-02216A" Realy the same. Samsung makes it for Phillips/Magnavox. Samsung $80 Phil/Mag $185
Even JVC $91 All the same part. The Samsung https://www.encompassparts.com/webwiz/wwiz.asp?wwizmstr=WEB.SEE&partnumber=6462145 is your best bet. Todd
