I don't think that it's hard disk problem either.
Check if you can at least access to Bios (turn the computer on & by pressing the F2 key when the system starts). If yes, it's not cpu or motherboard problem either.

Obviously it's not a battery problem. When you power on Acer, there's some running noise or not ? If there's such noise & just LCD has no sign of life, and you can't even access to Bios, it's just LCD cable connection problem. Often, LCD cable is disconnected from motherboard. It can ba happened very easily on shaking your laptop. It's possible that your hard disk is sick, then your Bios can't ditect its presence;
