Screen reads "out of Range" I thought the problem might be the battery pack 3 batteries with a connecting wire. The batteries are wrapped in a green plastic or vinyl. Phone purchased 18 months ago at Sams and they do not sell the battery packs nor does Walgreens. Thanks for your help.

the trimmers switch may be faulty.

CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK
Battery packs for this tool are shipped in a low charge condition
to prevent possible problems. Therefore, you should
charge them until the green LED on the front of the charger
comes on.
NOTE: Batteries will not reach full charge the first time they
are charged. Allow several cycles (operation followed by
recharging) for them to become fully charged.
CHARGING A COOL BATTERY PACK
See Figure 3.
If battery pack is within normal temperature range, the red
LED on charger will come on.
NOTE: If the charger does not charge the battery pack
under normal circumstances, return both the battery pack and
charger to your nearest Ryobi Authorized Service Center for
electrical check.
n Charge the battery pack only with the charger provided.
n Make sure the power supply is normal household
voltage, 120 volts, 60 Hz, AC only.
n Connect the charger to the power supply.
n Place the battery pack in the charger aligning raised rib
on the battery pack with the groove in the charger.
n Press down on the battery pack to be sure contacts on
the battery pack engage properly with contacts in the
charger.
n Normally the red LED on charger will come on. This
indicates the charger is in fast charging mode.
n Red LED should remain on for approximately 1 hour
then the green LED will come on. Green LED on
indicates battery pack is fully charged and charger is
in maintenance charge mode.
NOTE: The green LED will remain on until the
battery pack is removed from the charger or charger is
disconnected from the power supply.
n If both yellow and green LEDs come on, this indicates
a deeply discharged or defective battery pack.
Allow the battery pack to remain in the charger for 15
to 30 minutes. When the battery pack reaches normal
voltage range, the red LED should come on. If the
red LED does not come on after 30 minutes, this may
indicate a defective battery pack and should be
replaced.
n After normal usage, a minimum of 1 hour of charging time
is required to fully recharge battery pack.
n The battery pack will become slightly warm to the
touch while charging. This is normal and does not
indicate a problem.
n Do not place the charger and battery pack in an area of
extreme heat or cold. They will work best at normal room
temperature.
NOTE: The charger and battery pack should be placed
in a location where the temperature is more than 50°F
but less than 100°F.
n When batteries become fully charged, unplug the
charger from power supply and remove the battery
pack.

Replacing requires some soldering skills.
1. Remove two screws in bottom end and pull off the bottom sheath.
2. Remove six rubber plugs that camouflage six screws.
3. Remove the six screws. The opener will come apart in halves and the motor assembly may drop free but will still be connected so be a little careful. Take note of the orientation of the larger spring near the bottom and the positions of fittings that mate with the shell.
4. Unsolder two leads connected to the old battery pack and remove it.
5. Now you have options for replacing the battery pack. The pack consists of four Nickel Metal Hydride batteries connected in series.
a. Buy replacements (I didn't do this so I don't know if a pack is available that is already assembled). You might have to buy four same-size batteries and assemble the pack yourself. You can determine size by cutting the shrink wrap away from the battery pack to expose the actual batteries.
b. Buy standard AA (or AAA) cells, rechargeable (Nickel Metal Hydride) cells that are readily available everywhere.
6. (Unnecessary if you found a pre-assembled pack). Assemble a battery pack by soldering battery terminal to battery terminal such that all four batteries are in series. You can arrange adjacent batteries with a plus terminal and a minus terminal next to each other. You can make the four batteries into a pack by winding them with electrical tape.
7. (Unnecessary if you chose step 5A). Using a sharp knife or a Dremel tool, whittle away most of three ribs that are formed into the plastic shell. There are two ribs to do in one of the shell halves and one(+) rib in the other shell half. The (+) rib is near the connector block mounted under the operating switch and you can decide how much of it to whittle away also. The objective is to get the new battery pack to fit in the shell halves when they are re-assembled.
8. Solder the plus(red) wire and the minus(black) wire to the new battery pack -- those are the two wires removed in step 4.
9. Add padding if you desire to keep the battery pack from rattling around inside the shells.
10. Reassemble the shells and the bottom sheath.
11. Enjoy your wine.

repetto Try taking a plastic tie wrap that is long enough to wrap around the post on the battery case and the clasp this shoukld keep it in contact until you can find a part. You shoukdn't need to replace the battery pack just the clamp. If shoprider wants you to by a battery pack just to replace the clamp why? you might try looking for a guardian red small wheelchair it uses the same clamp to hold the battery pack and they no longer make that chair someone might have a junked one that you can get the clamp from just a thought Hope this helps

I know this thread is old, but I just had to change the battery pack in mine. I could not locate a 4 pin battery pack so here's what I did:

You'll need: 3 NiMH 1.2v AA solder tab batteries, Razor blade, #1 Phillips driver, Kapton tap (standard electrical tape will do), soldering gun/iron, spare 18awg wire
1. Use a razor blade to remove the black sticker from the bottom of the flashlight base, it covers the magnets
2. remove the three outer phillips screws (the inner ones hold the magnets in and can stay installed)
3. Pull off the bottom plate
4. Pull out the battery pack and disconnect it from the flashlight at the 4-pin queeze connector
5. Remove the outer wrap and end protectors from the old pack keeping the end protectors in tact
6. Assemble the 3 new batteries in the same configuration as the old pack using Kapton tape, connecting + to - at the same two spots (use the old pack as a reference)
7. Carefully desolder the 2 wire leads from the old battery pack
8. connect up the 2 power wires to the same two spots as the old pack and insert the temperature probe between two of the batteries as in the old pack
9. Put the end caps on the new pack and wrap the entire thing in Kapton tape to simulate the plastic wrapper you removed
10. Install pack in to base, secure bottom plate and re-adhere black sticker(if needed you can use non-foam double-sided tape or spray adhesive)

The old pack was rated at 1300mAh and I used three 2000mAh each for a total of 6000mAh so theoretically the light should run for about 6 times as long between charges.

1) remove the battery pack from the camcorder
2) connect the camcorder to a powered USB port on your computer
3) when the "Connected" indicator comes on, insert the battery pack into the camcorder
4) safe eject your camcorder from your computer
5) reconnect your camcorder to your computer
6) the battery pack should now begin to charge within the camcorder

This is not a problem with the battery but rather the phone has lost sync. You can get it back by going to the menu screen then going to register. The phone will walk you through from there. Mine lose sync from time to time and I get the same error. I have these phones both in my shop and home.
