Miele g 646 sc (not plus)

Hi,
I saw your post about this. My inlet/outlet light keeps going on and the washer won't work. I've cleaned out the outlet pipe and taken out and cleaned the plastic hose with the silver ball in. I can't however find the overflow switch? Can you help?

Hi I has the same problem, once you have given it a good clean, turn it off put the main dial back to stop. Then put it back to the setting you want press the on switch and then the start switch... It worked for me, had the problem a couple of times now

Check the inlet where it joins onto the tap as mine has a fine filter and debris from the fresh water builds up. Simply remove the pipe from the tap and **** ,this should remove /dislodge any scale etc that could be causing the inlet light to come on. Make sure you spit out the water that comes back from the machine!

Inlet / Drain is a general fault meaning there was no water movement when it was necessary to start the pump. Either it didn\'t drain out or it didn\'t fill the last time.

Call 800-999-1360 for free Miele tech support. They will advise you free of charge. You will perform step by step control board operations over the phone to clear the fault code as well as advise you how to cleanout the drain pump.

G 646 sc pump still runs when programme is off
Hi,
I had the same problem, the drain pump kept working even on the off program. After a little investigation i found out that there is a leak sensor that triggers the drain pump continually until it does not "sense" water anymore.
Firstl i tried to open the rear panel with no success.
Next i tilted the dishwasher to the left and let all the water drain out, plugged the dishwasher back to electricity and it worked!!!

The dishwasher must be removed from the counter so you can gain access to the pump. I would check with a parts supply company first to see if the pump is still available, and the cost. It may be too expensive to repair a dishwasher that old.
Removing the dishwasher is not very hard. Turn off the electrical breaker. detach the DW from the counter. Pull out. disconnect the water supply and drain. disconnect power supply if required.

Hi My dishwasher Miele G692 SC has the inlet/drain light illuminated. I have cleared the inlet and tap connection..... Any other suggestions before I ring Miele?
Have you checked the drain? On mine a small piece of broken glass had got past all the filters and had blocked the paddles of the pump - you have to release the spring clip and take off the top of the pump housing. Miele's seem very fussy about any blockages to the water outlet system.

You then have to hold down the start button to force a restart (cost me a call out to learn that) - but it is stated, sort of, in the problem fixing manual.

Your drain outlet is blocked , pull all the filters out and then check nothing is stopping the impeller from turning. You have to bucket out all the water first of course. It can be a toothpick or just some gunk,

The 'inlet/outlet' red indicator light flashing, small pool of water collected under filter, but cannot get back of to clean it. Model is Miele G646sc
You might be able to reach if you take the sides off. Elect disconnect, open door, remove 2 cross head screws recessed at top of where door closes, push top cover backwards an inch then lift off. remove 2 screws at top of each side panel then the lower ones (4 a side) panels then lift off and you can see right across the bottom of the 'sump' including the float switch assembly. (which has no effect on switching on the inlet/oulet lamp on my d/washer.)

Usually indicates a intake or drain fault - could be a plugged drain line at the garbage disposal or insufficient water coming into the unit
