The monitor`s display adjustment panel is showin "CONTROL LOCKED" I cannot change any settings(like brightness,v-size,etc)... wat do i need to do?? plz suggest

Well for Sumsung with a 3% failure rate is unusual, I would try and reset to factory settings if that does not work, They have a pretty good waranty on them seeing they never break down. average is 3yr.

most monitors have a setting either on the front panel or the side, or back of the monitor with adjustments in contract, color brightness, size etc. or go to control panel and look for monitor adjustments

Adjust monitor

hi, most monitors have between 4 buttons or 8 to udjust picture. the 4 button MENU, PLUS, MINUS, OFF. when the menu button is pushed the screen will show a list of COLOUR, BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, etc,etc the plus is pressed to change the COLOUR, BRIGHTNESS, etc,etc. if you need to change the SCREEN setting BECAUSE THE ICONS ARE TOO BIG click on START go up list to CONTROL PANEL go to DISPLAY click on this and go to SETTINGS click on this and on the left. change to 1024 by 768 SCREEN SIZE (COLOUR 256). press APPLY wait press OK. gerry

Unable to adjust the settings for brightness and contrast .

To adjust the display settings:

1. Press the flywheel control. The main menu appears.

The current display settings appear across the top of the main menu.

2. Rotate the flywheel to highlight an option. The name of the
highlighted option appears in the center of the menu.

3. Press the flywheel control to select the highlighted option, then
rotate the flywheel to adjust it.

Some options can only be enabled or disabled. There are also some
options that contain additional menus.

4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you have made all your changes.

5. Rotate the flywheel control until Exit is highlighted, then press
it to exit the OSD control system.


OSD OPTIONS:

Contrast increases or decreases display image contrast.

Brightness increases or decreases display image brightness.

Horizontal Size increases or decreases the width of the display image.

Horizontal Position moves display image to the left or right side of
the screen.

Vertical Size increases or decreases the height of the display image.

Vertical Position moves display image to the top or bottom of the
screen,

Pincushion curves the sides of the display image inward or outward.

Trapezoid increases or decreases the trapezoid distortion of the
display image.

Degauss removes magnetic discoloration from the display image.

Recall returns most options to the original factory default settings
if the monitor is currently using a preset video mode. (See the “Video
modes” section in this guide for information about the factory preset
modes.)

Advanced Option opens the Advanced Option menu. Color opens the Color
Manager menu.

Language changes the display language for the OSD control system.

User displays information about the monitor’s preset modes.

OSD Manager moves the OSD control window on the screen.

Exit closes OSD control system.

Computer turns on and boots up , however, the screen is dark

Try going into the control panel and select power options see if there is way to adjust the display brightness or try holding down the "Fn" key and use F7 to increase the brightness

My windows XP opens at half screen

dont know what kind of monitor you have but there should be some buttons on it to adjust things like contrast, brightness, screen size etc.. try that first

if not go to--

start -> control panel -> display -> settings -> advanced -> there should be a tab for your graphics driver software in there. try changing the screen size

Samtron 56V monitor

Its aproblem of command section.Check its components one by one.you can identify this section (the front panal buttons goes in this section and a ic in big size and pasted horizantally in the circuit).if the components are ok then change command ic with new one.This will solve your problem.

Control locked

try this option press hold menu en arrow button to adjust setting en fix it for your best display set your resolution on 1024x768 60hz after that disable osd by removing resistor located on crt board loc# r117 tnx and good day.

Dell m782 Brightness control???

Brightness is adjusted by using the 2 buttons on the left side of the front.

Samtron 56V monitor

Even i was also having the same problem. We can unlock the control lock by holding the menu button for 10-20 seconds.... But now my problem is the message "Controls locked/" appears continuously. Screen width also reduced. If anyone know the solution for this please help. thanks in advance.
