Have a Cuisinart modle DGB600BC coffee maker with grinder that has quit working. When you push the start button the red light goes on while holding the button but it does not start. Releasing the button - the light goes out and the beeping starts. Can the electronics be replaced?
There is a button on the inside the grinder/water reservoir compartment of the machine. What happens is the plastic tab on the underside of the lid breaks, disabling its ability to press the "lid closed" button. what showing on display ,when push to make coffee? If showing grinder block-then you have to replace the grinder to fix it. Try to grind coffee ,but without beans-if grinder start but rotate slowly -you have to replace grinder and change the brushes of the motor.
Is it still beeping? ;) It will beep if you have the automatic brewing programed and the grinder and it's lid are not in place.Once you have put the grinder back in place, push the small white button down that is on the grinder lid. The beeping will stop. Don't press the program button again or it will start beeping again...but if you do, just push that white button again.
I have the same problem with the exact same coffee maker I have tried pushing the 1-4 cups button. That worked for a couple weeks, now it is back to only brewing half the water in reservoir whether I push the 1-4 button or not. It is very annoying.
You have not missed anything. Unplugging for longer than 16 minutes (has 15-minute memory) is the only troubleshooting you can perform. Call Cuisinart to find out if you are still in warranty. All electronics have a failure rate. Cuisinart's is acceptably low, but their coffee makers are the least reliable of all their products. The basic problem with electronic coffee makers is that coffee makers produce high heat, and high heat kills electronics and melts plastic. At least Cuisinart has a 3-year warranty - higher than the industry standard. Let me put it another way. All coffee makers have a high failure rate. As many Cuisinart coffee makers that break down, the non-Grind-and-Brews still have a 91 rating from Consumer Reports. Consumer Reports doesn't give ANYTHING a 91 rating. A lot break, but you probably won't fare much better by switching to a different brand. The problem with a Cuisinart breaking down is that an expensive unit broke down - you wouldn't be upset if your $15 Mr. Coffee broke every year. the container were the coffee bean go .remove the bean, in the hole were the coffee goes you see the grinder wheel clean the grinder wheel with a brush you may have coffee residue on the wheel thanks for using fixya pierre
Is your grinder in and the lid down? My coffee maker (grind & brew) started beeping after I cleaned it and turned the left knob clockwise with the grinder still disassembled. There's a little button that is depressed when you close the lid with the grinder in there (I'd guess it's a safety feature). I pressed down that button, and the beeping went away.
listen to this! we called Cuisinart at 1-800-726-0190 and they are going to sihp us a replacement coffee maker and all they are going to charge us it the price of shipping. good news since spending so much for a product. great customer service.
