It is problem of lens mechanism that does not send initialize signal to system control chip and camera tries 3 times for that then give up so that error message comes in result. Replace lens assembly to fix the problem. Local camera repair shop will help you to replace it. Thanks.

I have a Sony W120 and had the same macro problem, tried all the "solutions" mentioned here without result. So I pressed the "Home" button, went to "Settings" (last menu item at right), then "Main Settings", and used the "Initialize" functio. Problem solved !
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the zoom function does not operate.
NOTES:
The zoom function will not operate with some AE modes.
The zoom function is not available while shooting a movie on all cameras.
Refer to the owner's manual for information regarding the functions available on
the camera. Manuals are available online in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of
the Sony® eSupport Web site.
Change the Auto Exposure (AE) mode on the camera.
Ensure the camera is not set for movie mode.
If the camera has a conversion lens setting in the menu, set it of OFF.
Reset the camera
back to factory settings. To reset the Camera, please select Initialize under Settings and Main Settings 1.
NOTE: If the issue is still
unresolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required .

you can go too a web site called local.com type in where u are and camera repair and find a repair shop close to u and email them most have free estimates and will tell u if it can be repaired or the parts are avalible
