You can get one from contacting [email protected] they had a tatung model arrive yesterday as I bought the power board out of it so contacting them they should still have the Cable input board for that model.

Failed backlight inverter circuits or the power supply for the backlight circuits has failed, you need to open it up and inspect the power suply first, look for bad caps with leaking/bulging tops. Post back what you find so we can guide you further.

Just time and patience. If possible use a pencil iron. A gun is too much heat for the board. If you have the exact replacement be aware how the old one comes out.

According to Tatung the problem is the power supply and their don't hhave any in stock to sell. Their can fix the TV if we send it to them for afee of $190.00 plus you pay shipping both ways. The power supply board is made in China.

I had the same problem. One repair shop said that they could not get parts. With $50 down the drain I took it to another guy who had the power board replaced in one week (for $200). So it can be done.

I found a replacement Scheda power module at you guessed it, not at Toys R Us but rather at www.tvmodulesrus.com for $79. The same module is used in several LCDs, including our PowerSpec 30" LCD sold at Micro Center. It is listed under several numbers at TV Modules R US:

The power outage simply precipitates a pre-existing flaw in the power supply unit of this TV. You will need to either order a new power supply and put it in yourself, or send it to Tatung to fix. I had the same problem. Contact this person:
