Is there a driver for D-Link Ver.2.10 DSB-C310 webcam on Vista?

Hey xanthia2313,
According to the manufacturer this webcam is not compatible with Vista. You can try searching for a driver that would make it work using the update driver option.

Sincerely,
Allan

My new cam destroyed the harddisk

This is more of a corporate backup standard taht follows -- in my case used when the restoration was to occur 1/2 way around the world and I wanted to miminize problems. The question for you is can you restore the machine if the backup fails meaning you are willing to assume more risk concerning the backup.

Norton Ghost is a backup product that when I last used it allowed creation of backup CDs the first or last of which was self booting that could be used to restore your system as it was before the backup. This is an effective means of backing your entire computer up periodically to simplify recovery when you have issues like you have had. PS a backup such as this can be wortless if you do not know how to restore it and if possible have tested the restoration to a different machine (but similar) or a different drive placed in the same machine. Both of these strategies to test the backup and assure the restore may not be available to you but it is a greater risk not to have a tested restore procedure as well as testing the CD's to assure they will actually restore.

There are instances where manufacturer supplied software has had viruses. Generally as the CD's get older so do the viruses and it is more likely and up to date anti-virus program would catch them.

Downloads are also risky but one means to minimize that is to get downloads from the manufacturer's site instead of other sites.

SO if you have a tested backup and
your anti-virus is up to date and
your sources software to add to your machine is considered reliable, it would be reasonable to try again.

But this time you will be so much better off with the backup.

If you are interested you may be able to download files from the manufacturer here.

here are two links -- for DSB-C100 clear and white
they have driver links and manuals -- if you can match a manual you should be able to download your driver

DSB-C100 white

White does not seem to have drivers -- I would read the manual to assure they are needed.
