Question about Koss KS4192 System

1 Answer

When we first start the unit, it has gotten quite a loud whirring sound. We turn it off, then turn it back on and the noise virtually disappears - it's still there, but greatly diminished. I suspect something like a worn drive band, but haven't had the unit apart yet to see. Any hints?

That is the fan on start-up and the high pitch is the power supply components heating up make shure that the main fan is working always it will be slow at low volume if it quits you run the risk of the power supply failing

My LG fridge model LFC 23760 ST is 1 yr old and has started noises when compressor kicks in. The whirring of the fan has gotten quite loud. Any ideas?

It could be that the cooling area is being restricted by something. Remove the front panel and take a look to make sure everything looks ok. You should have a warranty and I would sure use that before you have more problems...

GE SidexSide PSS26SGPASS Makes Humming Noise

GE refrigs have a variable speed evaporator fan motor that is controlled by a computer board on the back of the refrig. now the noise you are hearing is most likely the fan motor ramping up and down in speed (some of my customers say it sounds like a ghost). if its a continuous ramping up and down then the speed cotroller on the board is bad and must be replaced. if its just an occasional sound then thats normal and nothing to worry over.

Btw the reason the noise stops when the door opens is because the fan shuts off when you open the door.

Loud whirring. Not the fan.

The fan noise is normal on this set. The lamps are cooled via this method. Your users manual explains this issue..and it is the fan as you can see it slows down after the tv is switched off..

Whirring noise. No other problems.

Sounds like you have a noisy color wheel. Very common on all Samsung DLP`s. The part # is BP96-00250A for model HLN5065W.
