When I insert a CD/DVD it loads the disk but after 2 min is paused automatically and play itself after a long pause. It happens after 2-3 inutes.
I've a philips DVD player it also acts up the same way. It will automatically pause while playing movies/mp3 and then resume again sometimes soon other times after a long time.
Already tried using laser headcleaning CDs
Tried cleaning the head drive mechanism after opening the device
Seems to be an issue with the Optical Reader or one of the condensors which starts acting up once heated

Check the nylon laser carriage to see if it slides laser from center to outside line. If it sticks, it's probably shutting down from not properly reading a disk.
the button is on top of the player sometimes on it's side. also they dont have it. just open the cd player and insert the disk and play by it self automatically and there is a pause button to stop palying as well.
it can be two possibilities.
1)either the disk is faulty.check out in another player or drive and confirm whether the disk is properly working.
2)or the lens in the drive which reads the disk is either faulty or got dusty.in the electronics shop you get lens cleaning cd.insert that in your drive and play it.it will spin for a period of time and stop.then insert your dvd disk and check out if the same problem.then drive inner lens is faulty and needs replacement.

To Reset Dvd player, Remove DVD from Dvd Player, Unplug Power chord from Walloulet for 15minutes so player goes to Defult Factor Settings, Then plug back again Power chord. Turn on Dvd player insert DVD, It should Play or else Claim Warranty.
When you say it won?t read are you trying to play commercial DVD movies or read DVD data disks?
If you're trying to play movies then you need a couple of things the first being some type of player program. Real player works as does Windows media player but usually DVD drives come with a striped down version of PowerDVD or WinDVD.
If you in fact have a player installed and when a DVD is inserted in your drive it doesn't play it may not be configured to automatically play DVDs. Try opening your player program and trying to manually play your DVD.
