Diagnose Connection Problems With Internet Explorer
Internet connection and network errors can be frustrating
and confusing to a casual computer user.
However, Internet Explorer provides a diagnostics tool to
help identify and even repair the most common network issues.
This tool is simple to use, organized in steps, and can help
get a computer back up and running quickly.
Open Internet Explorer and click on the "Tools" button in the control
bar at the top of the window. From the "Tools" menu, select
"Diagnose Connection Problems."
A window will appear, displaying the start page of the
diagnostics tool.
Follow the instructions to determine the cause of the
connection error.
The diagnostics tool will ask a series of multiple-choice
questions about the connection problem you are experiencing.
Close all programs and restart the computer.
If you continue to receive an error when attempting to
connect to the Internet, check that all cables and power-supply cords for the
computer, modem and/or router are properly connected. Then, run the diagnostic
tool again.
Call your Internet service provider's technical support
phone number if you cannot resolve the error with the diagnostics tool.
The Internet Explorer diagnostics tool cannot repair or
reset malfunctioning or failing hardware like modems and routers.

Internet crashing
If your Internet Explorer keeps randomly crashing (closing
by itself), there may be an add-on or temporary page disrupting the connection.
Every time you browse the web, Internet Explorer keeps track
of the websites you visit.
It keeps these pages, along with cookie trackers, in the
"Temporary Browsing History" folder. Some websites cause Internet
Explorer to crash.
Open
the Internet Explorer browser. Go to "Tools > Delete Browsing
History."
Hit "Delete All."
Check off the box that says "Also delete files and
settings stored by add-ons."
Hit "OK."
Close and reopen the browser.
Disable Add-Ons
Go to "Start > Search."
Type "Internet Explorer" and hit
"Enter."
The computer will search for any files with this label.
Double-click on the file that says "Internet Explorer
(No Add-Ons)."
This will allow you to browse in IE without any additional
plug-ins or add-ons that might be causing the browser to crash.
Reset Internet Explorer
Open the IE browser.
Go to "Tools > Internet Options."
Hit "Advanced." Click on "Reset" and
then hit "Enter."
Close and reopen the browser.
You might have to many programs trying to or accessing your
computer or the internet at the same time or a virus
Scroll to bottom toolbar
(bottom of screen) right click select task manager applications and
processes to see you what's running and ticking over
if you see anything you don't need running select end now
and you might uninstall that specific
program if you or computer does not require it to run and
some unnecessary programs that could be jamming up your computer
also under processes see what is ticking over in the background
again if you see something you
don't need to be running select end now and users you will see who
is using your computer
