Re: how to replace a fuse a Kirby Ultimate G Series
There is no fuse in the Kirby. There are few things that you want to check: 1. Cord - most likely cause. It may not be damaged but wires inside may have snapped if it got between doors. 2. Safety switch inside - no easy way to check. We usually just put a new one in and see if it solves the problem. 3. Motor - very unlikely that something is wrong with the motor - those are very hard to kill.

Front of the unit, black switch that is pressed by this plastic protrusion from hose coupling has two parts. It is because ANY generation Kirby has speeds - HIGH for vacuuming with hose and LOW for using it with nozzle. Looks like the switch went bad (Switch HERE)
We have instructions for replacing it too. The "funny noise" with hose throws me off a bit though. Check if there is nothing in the hose (put a nickle through it).

Problem: I lost my manual. How do I use my vacuum on hard wood floors? How do I use attachments, where do they attach? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Kirby Ultimate Diamond Edition You can cal the Kirby factory to request a new owner’s manual and they will describe how to use the vacuum on hardwood floors. There is a felt piece as wide as the brushroll area that will clip on to the bottom of the revolving brush area so that you hard wood floors don’t get scratched. The Kirby head will dial off and the Kirby head will come off and the attachment hose will connect to the front of the Kirby and that is how you use the attachments. Also contact your local Kirby vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://kirby.comContact Us by Phone United States and Canada 1-800-494-8586 Between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST Monday thru Friday Don – The Vac Man Go Ahead.Use Us.
