Brookstone wireless headphones have static along w/ tv sound

No it isn't normal. This is a set that you plug into the television and it transmits the signal to the wireless headphones. It sounds like the transmitter unit is picking up interference. We can test it! The headphones can be connected directly with a wire. Try that on the television earphone jack, or on a cellphone, a radio, MP3 Player or a computer audio jack. If the audio is clear, with no hiss, then you know the problem is the transmitter unit. Move it as far away as the wires allow from the television and anything electronic.

The words "red and blue lights", "paired", "connect" and "beeps" make me believe that your headphones are Bluetooth-enabled. However, I never heard of a TV that is Bluetooth-enabled. I had the same problem with Brookstone wireless headset the only solution I found was plug in the red and white connectors to your cable box it works perfectly that way. Just make sure the red cable connector from the transmitter is connected to right red input connector on the box. I have a Comcast cable box. Now I need a solution for them on my PS3?

Well it could be interference from the TV, computer, or other 900Mhz device (some wireless routers run on this frequency).

I'm currently dealing with the same issue myself, if I find a solution I'll post back.

Hi I had the same problem and just emailed Sennheiser.Go to the menu on your TV and change the variable audio output to fixed. I use the headphones through the home theatre so the volume must be max on the home theatre and then you can adjust your headphone volume. It absolutely worked and I don't get anywhere near the static noise when I go to another room with the headphones on that I got previously. Also be sure your audio cable is plugged into the fixed audio output socket. I did not have to do anything with that.
