GE Profile Electric dryer - not heat, damp clothes but tumbler works

My GE profile electric dryer - only about 4 years old has suddenly stopped drying clothes. The clothes come out damp, so the tumbler is working properly, but there is no heat. Do you have ideas on what I should do ?

GE profile electric dryer, sounds like something is stuck in drum

Heating problem is most likely caused by one strand of your heating element is burned out. Heating element will have to be replaced if that's the case. Noise you are hearing is most likely coming from worn front and / or back bearing. Dryer has to be completely disassembled for either repair.

GE Profile Dryer - sensor problem

When I pull up the exploded view of your model, it does not show an individual moisture sensor, but is does show disconnect plug(s) for it. I can only assume that the sensor bars are an intrical part of one of the front bulkhead components. That all being said, the most common reason for your symptoms is when people use fabric softener sheets in the dryer, the sheets leave a waxy type coating on the silver sensor bars inside the drum, near the air inlet to the lint filter. If you clean those two (usually about 4 inch long x about 1/4 inch wide) metal bars off, they will be able to detect the moisture level of the clothing again, and your dryer will work on auto dry again.

Dampness

If the clothes are damp, First check and make sure the dryer is level this is very important. If it is the you can touch the dryness level on the screen and move it to more dry.
