Question about Brother PT-1750 Thermal Label Printer

Open Question

Power shuts off P touch 1750 label maker

Power shuts off immediately after I turn the machine on. I used the machine earlier today, the tape ran out while I was printing labels. I repalced the tape cartridge with a new one. Now the machine won't function at all. I use an ac adapter. I checked the connections. I even tried 6 fresh AA batteries. With no batteries or ac adapter connected, it still lights up P-Touch then shuts down again.

I thought the PT65 took a thermal tape that didn't have an ink ribbon. Compare the part number on the tape cassette with the list of compatible types listed in the labeller's instruction manual. Believe the only compatible cartridges are: M-Knnn/B, where NNN is one of 221, 222, 223, 231, 232, 233, 521, 531, 621 or 631, or M-K221S/B or M-K231S/B A.

Once you snap in the catridge you have to put the back of the p-touch back on. After that you can feed through the tape by pressing Code Space. If the back of your P-touch is not on it will not advance through.... I learned the hard way :) Hope it helps you all.

I think it ran out of ink, do I need to add ink to

I believe that this is a therm printer. Which means that the paper does the work it is heat sensitive and the keys warm to print. I'm not entirly sure about this but a quick way to tell is if the paper/tape is glossy on one side and flat finish on the other. You can obtain the owners manual by going to the Brother site and looking under support for downloads. It should be there after you've entered your model #. Thanks,Dana

Brother P-Touch 85 only prints one vertical line, then shuts off

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Labels are not printing correctly

Brother P-Touch tape label maker doesn't print right.

I believe it's a faulty tape. I put in a new tape, reset the machine and it's now printing fine. It wasn't the reseting - I tried that before.

Tape Jam

There may be a small piece of label cutting stuck in the gears. remove the label cartredge, you will see a white gear set between the pinch wheel and the print head. Use a micro drive or something strong and give the gears a little help while pushing the print button. You may have to do this several times. Be careful not to use too much force as this may knock a tooth off. Good luck. My Dymo continues to print prefet labels.
