There are many things that can cause this type of symptom.
Is it failing on battery only? May need a new battery.
is it failing when plugged into the power adapter?
The adapter input jack will fail over time and need to be replaced.
There is considerable mechanical stress on this part, and It will fail where the jack is soldered to the circuit board.
Internal circuits can fail. Maybe a new laptop will be cheaper than repairing this one.

SOURCE: Satellite M40X won't boot

It is most likely a crack in the chip that sends power to the CPU. Fan is on different circuit and is getting power. Almost need a really strong maginifying glass to see a crack like that. Unfortunatly the best solution is a new motherboard. I have had some sucess with resoldering these chips but you need a hot air rework station to do a real repair. Hardest part is figuring out which chip it is. A lot of them are labeled MAXWIN ****. Should be fairly close to the CPU socket. Hope this helps, keep us posted. One other thing to try is pushing down on the laptop in the area of the cpu when you boot it and see if that helps. Opening and closing the laptop screen puts a lot of stress on the motherboard and over time will crack the cold solder joints.

I have an existing ceiling fan/light unit using the Intertek 3177973 unit. I want to install a second unit for the same light. How do I pair / sync the second remote switch to the existing receiver??

To pair/sync a second remote switch to an existing Intertek 3177973 receiver, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the power to the existing fan/light unit by switching off the circuit breaker or removing the fuse.
  2. Locate the "learn" button on the receiver. It is usually located on the back of the receiver or the control box.
  3. Press and hold the "learn" button on the receiver until the LED light on the receiver starts flashing.
  4. Press the "on" button on the new remote switch for about 5 seconds. The LED light on the new remote switch should start flashing.
  5. Release the "on" button on the new remote switch. The LED light on the new remote switch should stop flashing, and the LED light on the receiver should stop flashing.
  6. Test the new remote switch to make sure it is controlling the fan/light unit properly.
7. Turn on the power to the existing fan/light unit.
It's important to note that these steps are general guidelines, and the specific steps may vary depending on the model of your Intertek 3177973 remote control unit. Consult the manual for the specific steps and precautions before pairing or syncing on your remote control unit.

2002 hd 1400 has a #2 code showing up will not clear

If you've got that Engine light coming On for 4 seconds, Off 4 seconds then On 8 seconds then out, its historic. (there WAS a problem that has now cleared)
If its On 4, Off 4 then remains On its a 'current' code.

I never heard of a #2 code.....they are read as a two digit code.

Here's one method some use to clear all codes:

Disarm alarm if so equipped.
Run/Off switch to OFF
Ignition Key: ON,OFF,ON,OFF,ON (and leave ON)
Press LEFT turn signal switch TWICE. Wait for 1 or 2 flashes..
Press RIGHT turn signal switch ONCE => turn signal will flash 1 time
Press RIGHT turn signal switch ONCE => turn signal flashes 2 times
Press RIGHT turn Signal switch ONCE => turn signals flash 3 times
Press LEFT turn signal switch ONCE. TROUBLE CODES WILL NOW BE DISPLAYED
TO CLEAR ANY CODES,,,=> PRESS & HOLD LEFT signal switch for 5 seconds. => turn
signal will now flash twice to confirm memory is clear.
Turn ignition OFF.

Toshiba equium m40x won't power up

whats happening is that the cpu is overheating and shutting down the computer due to your fan not spinning, if you wish to test this remove the bottom panel and remove the fan and its cooling tubes should all be one part (quite easy 3 or 4 bolts) and blow on the cpu or put a pedistal fan facing it or any other form of cooling that wont damage it, and try to start it if it boots for a while it is the fan and you will need to replace it, i had this exact problem yesterday

Pover up trouble

sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?

got backup for your Dell?
