No heat I have a maytag gas dryer frontloader.. the heat is very low.. and I want to troubleshoot it. I have tried the different settings (timed dry, sensor dry, air fluff etc.) but none of them seem to work.. what can I do to fix this?

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

how do i set this dryer to dry my clothes??? what is the right setting?? should i use the time dry setting or the more dry/less dry setting?? Clothes never dry???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If this is a gas dryer, I'd suggest an inspection by the gas company or qualified technician. If the jets aren't firing correctly, you are wasting gas and possibly creating a hazard.

Our Kenmore dryer had the same sort of problem (different catchy names.

Problem was that in "smart" modes (by what ever name, the timer motor runs in series with a "dampness" sensor (thermostat, actually, I think) and A RESISTOR.

Resistor burns out--this is the symptom set.
