Shuts off in middle of cycle

Our Ge washer shuts off at least 6 times during a wash. At no set time, just randomly shuts off. The clothes will be soapy at the end. I will have to rinse and spin several cycles before the soap will be out. At ,most times, the clothes are soaking wet. I will have to repeatedly drain and spin until finally they are ready for the dryer. I only use HE laundrey detergent. What can I do to fix this problem? I will never buy an HE washer ever again. This is a nightmare.

I am having the same problem w/ our brand new front loader washer, it pauses constantly, and even when I can get the load to finish, I have to drain and spin atleast 3 x before I can even attempt to put in dryer, at this point it is taking me hours to do one load of laundry!!

I found that cleaning the drain worked like a charm. Take the plug out and let the water drain and then take all the lint and gunk that has collected. This is in the little box under the round door. Machine is now working like new after weeks of huge frustration. Thanks for the above comments!!!!

LG WM3987HW Combo - drum is filling with water during dry cycle.

Sears Parts Direct is one source of the parts diagrams, https://www.searspartsdirect.com/model/1vc37q1bdj-003204/lg-wm3987hw-washer-parts . See the Dispenser assembly parts diagram for the water inlet valve. If you can watch the entire cycle, try turning off the shut-off valves for the washer inlet hoses after the rinse cycle and before the dry cycle starts. Water should not flow into the washer/dryer with the shut-offs closed.

I've seen inlet valve solenoids fail in the open position or in the closed position. I've never seen a control board that sent open messages randomly. (Sometimes, there is damage to the control board or corrosion or damaged wiring that stops the control board from sending the open/closed message to the solenoid.)

I hope this helps.

Hello: I have a tenant who is having problems with a GE Spacemaker washer/dryer -Stylemaster # is 622866-A. Here is how she describes the problem: ...it seems as though the washer isn't functioning...

If a spin and drain problem you can pull the front off to see if perhaps a small item (ie. sock or like size item) is stuck between basket and tub or in the drain hose? If it is a wash time problem that would be another direction.

GE top loading washer turns off by itself

How about a lid switch. Try pushing down on lid to restart.

Hi, The water comes into the load, but then their

the agitator shaft could be stripped out. does it sound like the motor is working during the wash cycle or is it just idle? This is a common problem with ge washers the agitator strips out on the transmision and needs to be replaced.

Washer stops several times in the middle of cycle

possibly it could be your un-balance switch getting very sensitive to any type of movement of the machine, normally they only actuate during the spin cycle when you have a very off balanced load of clothes
