LCD projector has a 'shadow' in the green color

Hi,
I have a PC connected to my EPSON LCD projector.
Everything displayed has a kind of a shadow: the mouse cursor for instance is seen twice.
Using a monitor tester program, displaying horizontal and vertcal lines, it looks like the Red and Blue are OK. But the Green has the shadow effect.
What could the problem be? Some mainboard defect or an LCD panel ?

Thanks.

I have the same problem but my shadow is purple. It is most noticable against high contrast images. Is it fixable?

Could the LCD's have fallen out of allignment?

    thanks

Mine has on the left and right of the screen a green bar. If I flip the image I have red bars. Along with the green bars, on the left side there is a bar where I get a bit of a double image. On the right I have about three faint red bars and throughout the screen I can see alternating red and blue bars. I hope this is something I can fix. Someone please help.

This is a Mainbord problem , the lcd would have shown blotches on your imagr rather than a shadow effect.

We have an Epson Powelite projector mounted in a classroom and just recently it is projecting everything with a purple tint to it. Before that the colors were not as vivid as when we first installed it. ...

An image is produced in these projectors by passing color through three different LCD panels. One is a Red, one a blue, and the last one a purple. It sounds like the green panel is damaged. The only way to tell is to take it to an Epson authorized service center.

Yellow tint

Hello. Here's the visual key to remember about projectors--LCD panels show their colors like this: RED lcd panel displays cyan onscreen(baby blue); GREEN lcd displays purple; BLUE lcd displays yellow. ( You now know where the displayed dust is!) The problem is most likely a burned blue lcd or polarizer filter in front of the blue lcd panel. This occurs when the dust filter isn't cleaned regularly or properly and heat builds up--yes, enough to "cook" the lcd panel or actually cause a burn to develop on the polarizer. The polarizer is just like a lens in a pair of good sunglasses. It is a small, extremely thin, pane of glass with polarizer material glued onto one side. When burned, it causes a "shadow" effect--that enhances the display of that particular color--in this case, yellow.--Hope I was of assistance!---Rick

Colors out of alignment Epson EMP 500

You LCD optical engine is out of alignment. This will require an authorized service center to make the adjustment or even replace the unit if necessary. There are 3rd party companies that offer this service, perhaps in your own town or nearby. You may want to weight the cost of repair to purchasing a newer unit.

Shadow developing

Hi there

If the shadow is always in the same place you will have to get one of the LCD's replaced.

It is the most common problem a LCD causes on a Projector.
