Should be fine. Usualy most CO units blink green to say it is alive and working fine. Double check your paperwork if you are not certain and the from of most of the GE CO detectors say what the lights are for.

My nighthawk Kidde carbon monoxide detector keeps beeping every 25-30 seconds. Do I need to buy a new one?

Some models of Carbon Monoxide Detectors will give an audible beep every 25-30 seconds after it has sounded an alert alarm. This may have happened when there was noone home to hear it. A periodic beeping sound may also indicate it is time to change the battery.

Solution: Install a new battery and check your manual for instructions on how to reset the system. Check the expiry date on your unit, it needs to be replaced after 5 to 7 years, according to the manufacturer specifications.

If you are in doubt that your Carbon Monoxide Detector is not working effectively, REPLACE IT. Your safety and your peace of mind is worth it.

My First Alert Carbon Monoxide Alarm has failed

If the carbon monoxide detector chirps, the battery may be dead. New batteries can be defective. Check if the light is yellow when the alarm is chirping, it means the battery is low, replace with a new battery.

I have a British Gas carbon Monoxide alarm - recently changed the batteries but it now beeps once every minuit, instructions on the inside of the cover says refer to manual - but I can't find. Any idea...

I am having exactly the same problem. It says that the batteries cannot be changed (ccould just be ploy to get us to buy a new unit). mine is only 4 yrs old, and has never beeped before - the light used to blink once when i entered the kitchen. It is now beeping intermittently once per minute same as a smoke alarm needing a new battery.
