I,ve got an Briggs and Statton elite 10000 watt generator, it wont supply enough power to the house evrything is dim lights etc, Ive used it amny times before it will pretty much run the whole house however now the voltage is very low. I checked the voltage coming off the plug I'm only getting 80 volts both terminals. I tried switching the reset circuit breaker with another on the machine same results. It popped once before but we just reset it. Any ideas?

Does it appear to be running as fast as it always did, as in RPM's are same as usual? If there is a fuel problem and rpm's decrease due to that, voltage will drop as well. Other causes may be internal problems with generator circuits etc, and will need technician to troubleshoot it properly.
You can try increasing the throttle manually and see if voltage comes up.

We have a Briggs & Stratton Elite Series 5500 watt 8200 starting watt generator, it locked up on us last winter & we can't find out why, what can we do

If the engine is locked, it could be any one of several things. Most are rather expensive, like: seized due to no oil; broken rod; bad valve, etc. An engine mechanic is going to have to troubleshoot it for you.

If I have a danbury portable air conditioner that uses around 7 amps to run, how big of a generator do I need to run it, ( ex. 2000 watt, 3000 watt, etc.) Thank you!

5,500 watts should do it because you need to consider the starting watts of your air conditioner and not the running watts, but if you want to run some other things you might as well buy an 7,000 watt genarator because the price isn't that much more depending on the brand.

I have a Briggs and Stratton 8,500 starting watts. I live in SouthEast Florida and I use it whenever we have a hurricane. I have it hooked to a transfer switch and it works everything except for my electric range and my three ton air conditioner. It will also work my hot water heater, lights, fans etc. I have only used it one time and it works great.

I plan to buy a whole house generator with the capicity of 25,000 watts so if you know anyone that could use it (even in it's original box stored in my garage, no rust or ware and starts on the first or secong pull) and they are in or near Boynton Beach, Florida then perhaps we could make a deal.

Briggs & Stratton Briggs Stratton 6200 Watt Portable Generator voltage adjust

Usually the cause of slightly low voltage like this is that the engine is not running at full operating RPM. Find the high speed adjusting screw on the govenor linkage and adjust the engine RPM until the output is 220V - 240V

Engine is blown what size brigsss &statton engine doi need

From what I can tell you have a model #212400 engine. Look for the model and spec numbers on the engine. They are usually either stamped into the top of the rocker cover near the spark plug, or sometimes on the housing that the recoil starter bolts to. You will need the spec number when you order an engine to make sure you get the correct one for that generator. I found all the information at this link which includes owners and parts manuals which may be helpful to you.
