I have this router Belkin G Router Model :

belkin routers are compatible with all ISPs.... all that it requires is an ethernet cable that should come from ISP, either directly or through modem... so if your virgin connection gives you an ethernet port in their modem, you can configure the belkin router accordingly...

Belkin 54g Router won't connect to internet.

If you can access the configuration page of your belkin router you have to copy the MAC address of your computer to the router. The router has the capability to clone the MAC address. It's because if you have a cable internet connection the MAC address is registered in the server.

My laptop has vista installed via usb from virgin cable modem.what must i do to install a belkin wireless g mimo router using ethernet connection?

Huh? You installed Vista through your Virgin Cable Modem? What on earth does that mean?

Are you trying to ask "How do I install my Belkin Wireless G Router?"

If that is the actual question, here is the answer:

1) Unplug your cable modem from your computer.
2) Plug the cable modem into the router using a Ethernet Cable.
3) Plug the router into the computer using another Ethernet Cable.
4) Plug in the power supply for the cable modem and then the router.

(If your cable modem is ONLY USB, and doesn't have a spot to plug in a Ethernet Cable, you'll have to call Virgin and replace the modem with a model that does)

Once everything is up and running, you should be on the internet as soon as the computer starts.

(You may want to log into the router and disable the "Wireless" settings if you aren't using them to stop others from gaining entry to your network)

Wireless connection

The first step to try is to reboot both the router and the cable/DSL modem. Turn off your computer, and unplug the router and the modem from the mains. Wait one full minute, then plug the modem back in. Wait until the lights stop blinking (until it indicates a steady connection). Once that is complete, plug the router back in, and wait until it also stops blinking. Once the router and modem are both back on, then turn your computer back on and check to see if you have a connection. If that doesn't work, then take the router out of the picture -- plug a computer directly into the ethernet port on the modem. You should definitely have an Internet connection at that point. If it works, the problem is in the router. If it doesn't, you'll need to call Virgin Media's help desk for assistance.
