Hello i have an hp Pavilion dv9000 laptop. I use

Hello i have an hp Pavilion dv9000 laptop. I use the a/c power adaptor and place the laptop on a cooling fan tray by Belkin. When I power the Laptop up I get all the blue lights and on the screen it reads the hp Invent screen with the options in the lower left corner to press either (esc) to change the boot order or (F10) to enter setup. Then the screen goes blank but there is a slight glow from the bottom of the screen. And the laptop goes silent ceasing the remainder of the boot-up process. During the early stage of the initial boot up if I do hit either esc of F10 I can get into the screens those two keys offer. Do you have any ideas as to what the problem is? I?m leaning towards the two ram sticks. thank you.

Hello i have an hp Pavilion dv9000 laptop. I use

yes, i would definately try removing the memory modules and blow some forced air into the connectors as well as using alcohol on a q-tip to clean the module contacts before inserting them back into the board. If it still does not properly boot, try removing one module making sure the remaining module is seated into the #1 slot, and reboot. If it does not boot, remove and replace with the other one, leaving that one out, reboot. If, at that time, it boots, you now know which module, if any, are bad.

My laptop DV9000 will not power up

Is your power adaptor working....are your batteries charged? if the adaptor is working, then the adaptor jack in th computer itself is U/S and must be replaced.

How long is the battery on a HP Pavilion dv9000 supposed to last?

Laptop batteries will usually last from 1.5 to 5 hours, depending upon the demand, the battery and the use. Sound burns up a lot of juice as does the DVD player so if you're watching movies or playing games an hour is about right. You can purchase a better HP PAVILION DV9000 Battery with 12 cell , it will work longger.
