Your sentence didn't make sense, but if you are trying to add the product code, it is on the sticker. This should be on your computer tower /desktop. Please enter the numbers and letters correctly and make sure you have the zero's and o's correct. You may be putting in a letter O when it should be a ZERO 0.

Cd rom will not read. have just put windows 98 on instead of xp, hard disc was formated, have win 98 now, but cd wont work or if i plug in usb memory stick

With Windows 98 you MUST install a suitable driver in addition to Windows 98 to talk to CD Roms. I believe there is also a general service routine that must be loaded.

XP has all this functionality built in.

Cannot boot up from CD-Rom with Win 95 and Win 98

You probably have a version of windows 98 that was not bootable on CD. You would need to boot from a windows 98 floppy bootup disc, then go the the d:\win98 directory and run setup from there.

Would like to delete computer prior to donating system

All you need to delete whats on the computer is to put a windows disc into the drive. When you get into the setup delete the windows 98 partition and there will no longer be anything on the machine.

I try to boot my computer from a windows 98 disc, but it won't lo

Hi matthewbugbe,

I think what that means is it does not recognize your hard drive. If you are trying to install Windows 98 you should format your drive first.

Delete operating system

Use the restore disk that came with the 4505 to restore it , then upgrade it to 98 with an upgrade disk. These can be found online still of ya search around or at a neighbors house *wink*
I believe the 5190 disks wil not work as they have the incorrect drivers for the other system.
