HP Pavilion ZD8000 unable to go into standy or hibernate mode

Hi I need some help. I have been using an HP pavilion ZD8000 for the last 2 years with no issues. Recently it has not been letting me put it into standy mode or hibernate. When I change it through the control panel it just defaults back to the original settings of - Do nothing, both for shutting the panel and hitting the power button.

Please help as it is becoming a pain in the a*#e

Thanks

Have you looked through all of your power options under

Control Panel -> Display -> Screen Saver (TAB) -> Power (look at these settings).

Can HP dv2715nr hibernate instead of putting it on sleep mode?

Hi,

It sounds like the hibernate feature is missing from the power options list. Click on start button, select shut down, and then hold shif or ctrl and stand by should change to hibernate.

Hp pavilion zd8000 just over 2 years old

Sounds like you are getting a supply line issue which is well known on these models. Pull the battery, Boot into BIOS, (F10 at the splash screen) And see if it will run for an extended period of time. Next if it does Boot into Safe mode and do the same..(This is F8).. Post back..
