Sounds like the the processor is over heating and its causing the system to shut down before it burned up the board. basicly your thermal paste between your processor and the heatsink isnt doing its job. there could be a crack on it might have just degraded over time.

this can cause the system to freeze or see things ont he screen. it needs to be repaired before more issues happen.

Ps3 freezes everytime i load a game
It could be a corrupted save file.  Something similar happened to me.  If your game freezes too much while loading a file it can become permanently corrupted.  You should back up your save data on a flash drive or other device.  As for your problem, i'm not sure the cause.  Perhaps you should try other games
