SOURCE: wiring color code for xr-c5100

I am about to sell one on eBay - here are the connections from the installation paperwork and connector that I have:

Top row, left to right:
White - Front Left (+)
Green - Rear Left (+)
Purple - Rear Right (+)
Gray - Front Right (+)
Blue/White strip - AMP REMOTE (Max 0.3A)
Blue - ANT REM (Power Antennta Remote) (12V, Max 0.1A)
Red - Power (Accessory)
Black - Ground

Bottom Row, left ot right
White/Black - Front Left (-)
Green - Rear Left (-)
Purple - Rear Right (-)
Gray - Front Right (-)
BLANK
BLANK
BLANK
Yellow - Power (Battery)

One of the BLANKs is for the "Light Blue - ATT (attenuation for car phone)", but it is unclear which one. This wire is not on my connection block...

The circular BUS line to the right of the terminal block is apparently for linking to a CD/MD unit (cable supplied with unit)

The Blue 3.5mm socket is for the RM-X45 Rotary Commander (which attaches to the indicator lever)

Important notes:
If there is no ACC power line in the car, do not connect the red lead.
Ensure the power select switch on the bottom of the unit is in the B position, then press the RESET button (behind the faceplate).
This means that the display will be off when the unit is not in use - avoiding a flat battery risk.
(Posn A is for normal use, with red line on ACC)

The RESET buttom should be pressed after installation, before initial use.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My Sony xr-c5100 car stereo

It is possible that the mechanism is jammed and so there is no loading of the carriage to the system. when the tracks are selected please try and hear if there is noise of the loading of the CD. If not there is a failure of the drive, failure of the loading section both of which needs a mechanical check within.
Please also have the optical head cleaned.

SOURCE: The face plate for my

Hello
You haven't mentioned nothing about its other functions. Does it loads CD, plays it and so one. Only mentioned about its back face plate backlights only. If this is the only trouble, that is, the backlight only not lights up, it can be repaired. Not even back light, most of the faults can be repaired. Backlight is produced by lighting up LED [Light Emitting Diode]. It may fail as if a bulb fails. It can be replaced. If problem is not this much, and more, inform me by Fixya. OK.

Robinair 34788 display contrast adjustment?

The Robinair 34788 is an automotive air conditioning service machine that features a large, easy-to-read display. If the display on your 34788 machine appears dim or the contrast is not suitable, it is possible to adjust the display contrast to improve visibility. Here are the steps to adjust the contrast on the Robinair 34788:
  1. Turn on the machine and wait for the display to fully light up.
  2. Press and hold the "Enter" and "Clear" buttons simultaneously for three seconds.
  3. The display will show "Contrast" and the current contrast setting.
  4. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the contrast to your desired level.
  5. Once you have set the contrast level, press the "Enter" button to save the setting.
  6. The display will show "Contrast Saved" to confirm that the new setting has been saved.
If you are still experiencing difficulty with the display after adjusting the contrast, there may be an issue with the machine's internal components or the display itself. In this case, it is recommended that you contact a qualified service technician for assistance.

How do I change the date on my sony xr c5100 face plate?

Go to this site. Dont click DOWNLOAD..it is in big letters-leave it alone.
Down to the right (Under the word DOWNLOAD in the green box) are pages you can see and when you roll your mouse over them, they say what page of the manual they are. You want Page 5. Click it and see what to do. Dont know if you can print it and I know you cant save it but you could do a PRINT SCREEN and then go to your WORD program in Accessories
on your computer and Paste. This will put the screen shot in Word and you can then save and print it.
Good luck...here is the link.
