Defenation of vga card

the rear of most desktops have 2 VGA jacks
the onboard. VGA
and the better grade, PCI-express slot GPU card. VGA jack.
which one do you use?
not only that , 100s of PCI GPU cards could be in that slot.
looking or telling what you have or a photo of the rear helps.
unlike laptops, desk tops can have any thing there.

this PC is relic of long long ago. worth zero value today. 14yo.
HP owns COmpaq now, and all support ended long ago for this PC.
is this the old C500 series PC, no service tag data show by you, full tag data.
my wild guess, Pdp124p is the PSU power supply number

or 3 others sold by compaq day1
or if others like me added faster cards, there 100s possible

Intel does not support drivers for w7 on there old chip.
HP(compaq) did but does not support this PC now.
you can ask HP on there forum for the driver.
be step1, and if fails buy a new GPU card and plug it in
and use that.

id put in a new card, at point 2. that has w6 support, sure would.,

The 82865G is a card that fits into the AGP slot of Intel motherboards with the 865G chipsets:

It's a little confusing to know exactly what you have but if your are hooked to a DVI output and not a VGA output, then you probably have the card. You can check in "device manager" by clicking on the box next to "sound, audio and game controllers". This should list your devices and, hopefully give you an idea of who manufactured it. Intel didn't make them and suggest you go to whoever made it. You may have to open your tower and look to see who did. If you look again in device manager but, this time click on the box next to "display adaptors" and see what you have there. If you have a standard VGA driver as well as some other, that will tell you. As far as onboard graphics, you can try to update here:

If you do indeed have the card installed and want to try the on board graphics, you will have to hook a monitor via VGA cable or adaptor to the vga port on the back of your tower.
