Maytag Neptune filling with water

I have a Maytag Neptune stackable W/D. From time to time we find the washer filled with water. It is clean water, not soapy or from the discharge line. We have tried to determine when it happens, but cannot. It seems the washer is calling for the water somehow. We had a repair person out once, told us our discharge hose need to be repositioned, we did that but it continues to occur (it wasn't discharge water in the tub in the first place). I think the washer is calling for the water as if it is beginning a cycle.

Thanks in advance,
John

Stupid question: But you mean the fill valve in the washer or the value of the source?

Is this happening after it has not been used for a while. If so you have a fill valve slowly bleeding some water in. Almost like a dripping faucet. The only way to fix it is to replace the valve. If you want to check it turn the breaker off to the unit when not in use to see if if still fills up. If so you know it would have to be the valve.

Maytag Neptune top loader washer not filling

You have tried both a Hot fill and a Cold fill and still no water flow?

You could try going into Service Mode and turn on the water inlet valves with console commands. See page 16 of the Service Manual and see if you can turn the water inlet valves one at a time and get water to flow into the machine. Getting into Service Mode is easy to do

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

If still no water flow it would be time to check 120VAC on the water valve solenoids when you command them on in Service Mode. If no 120VAC present then we might have a Stuck open High level pressure switch which would disconnect 120VAC to the Control Board relays that operate to switch 120VAC to the Hot/Cold solenoid valves.

How do you feel about troubleshooting? Do you have a DVM? I have the schematic in PDF format if you need. Let me know if you want to DIY the fix......Rich

Water problem with stackable Maytag Neptune

You have to make sure your self if water is getting through the hoses first.Remove the hot& cold hoses on the back of unit.Make sure there isn't a clog in side of the water valve screens ,if so clean them.Still not filling?Possibly a blown fuse.

Maytag Neptune Stackable washer continues to fill with water when unit is off

If the machine continues to fill even after the power has been switched off, this sounds like a stuck inlet valve. To identify the valve, look at your model in the "parts store" section of Maytag's website. The valve is item 21 on the "Control Panel, Top & Lid" drawing. From the drawing, the valve looks like a fairly standard item; I suspect you might get something suitable a bit cheaper elsewhere. A
