1. If your Sony DVD recorder player RDR-GX257's disc recorder has stopped working, don't despair! There are a few things you can try to get it up and running again.
2. First, check to see if the disc recorder is properly connected to your TV and to an electrical outlet. If everything is plugged in correctly, try pressing the "Reset" button on the back of the DVD recorder.
3. If the reset doesn't work, try unplugging the DVD recorder from the power outlet for a few minutes, then plug it back in. This sometimes clears any glitches that may be causing the problem.
4. If the DVD recorder still isn't working, it's possible that the disc itself is the problem. Try inserting a different disc into the player and see if it will play. If it does, the first disc was probably the issue. If the second disc doesn't play either, then the problem is most likely with the DVD recorder itself.
5. If you've tried all of the above and the DVD recorder still isn't working, you may need to take it to a repair shop or contact Sony customer service for further assistance.
well if your lcd has no bulge capacitors test your tft lamp both top & down of the screen( particularly top) with spare tft lamp. or use another screen to test it. secondly, test the c5607 transistors in the inverter section but if you know how to use spare tft lamp very well , you will easily detect between your screen & the inverter

If you mean you have a pixel that is stuck on and is always red, there's nothing you can do. The only cure is to replace the display. LCD displays sometimes will have a pixel (sometimes several pixels) that doesn't work properly. The manufacturers know this, and as long the display falls within their specifications for what's acceptable, they don't see anything wrong. These specs include the total number of bad pixels, the number of bad pixels that can be clustered together, and where they can be on the display. If you have just one or only a few bad spots, they won't do anything for you. If other problems develop, such as a whole row or column goes bad or a section of the display fails, then you can see about having them fix it if the warranty is still in effect.
give the lens a clean with a soft cue tip or cotton bud with methalated spirits.should be fine after that, its a reading problem, and even the finest of fur or dust can cause this
Not really a solution, but I have a new BD-P1600 and I can't have it work OK with my I-Inc 28 inch monitor in HDMI. It got the blue screen with Language choice the frst time I plugged it and choose the language, but after that it always stops displaying after a few seconds of blue screen. I plugged the unit to normal yellow video connector of a 20 inch TV and I configured the output HDMI to monitor but the player continues to stop displaying and hang when getting to no-disk. Sometimes, when pressing the SETUP on the remote, I can see SETUP on front display, sometimes not, but never got it on the monitor screen it-self like with the 20 inch TV.
Will I need to return to Futureshop change it for another new one?
Many thanks for your speedy respons. snikuch
