On the bottom of the unit there should be 1 screw towards the center that is the keyboard screw.

After opening up the display 4 slide tabs should be visible along the top row of keys, slide these towards you.

Gently lift up the keyboard as the ribbon cable is still attached.

You've to see at the back of your notebook, you have to unscrew that say say KB. Incase it is not written then unscrew all the top and middle screw. Some model after unscrew you have to remove the front panel first before removing keyboard or some model remove the front panel and KB screw is underneath it.By saying Front panel, I mean the panel at top where you press power-on button and all.

How do i find the memory slot on my Advent Quantum Q100?

The Advent Quantum Q100 laptop has one Ram memory slot.
The Maximum Total Amount of Ram Memory is 2GB.
It uses SO-DIMM ram memory that is DDR2 at 667 MegaHertz. (667MHz)
Also known as PC2-5300 {SO-DIMM style}

The Ram Memory slot is under the Keyboard.

Past this point I am at a loss to describe how to remove the Keyboard.

1) Either you have to remove the LED cover above the Keyboard, and below the LCD screen to access screws which hold the Keyboard in place, (Computer off, and ALL power removed. AC adapter {Charger}, and Battery),

OR,

2) The LED cover (Power On button, LED's, etc, are in the cover), has to be removed, and there may be one, or two screws coming up from the bottom of the laptop, which hold the Keyboard in place.

My acer aspire one notebook keyboard totally not working. i tried to bring this problem to technicians since i dont know regarding about computers. they restore system and tried to fixed the ribbon under...

I would contact acer and talk to their tech support, so they can send you a new one. It seems to me that is a default computer, which means it's broken.

Memory upgrade for laptop - not sure what to unscrew

Most laptops are this way, but yours may be a special case.
Most have two ports one is underneath a removable panel on the bottom of the computer, and the other is under neath the keyboard. To remove, look to see if you can remove the area between the keyboard and screen, if not find a screw or screws on the bottom of the keyboard labeled "k", once those are off the keyboard is loose and is just lifted off.

Always remember to not prey to hard,if it is going to come off it will come off without struggle, and have your battery and power disconnected first, and the computer is off...

Installing Memory

Hi

Yes, you can replace/upgrate the memory module under the keyboard.

Before you proceed, note that Dell Inspiron 2650 uses DDR200 3.3V SODIMM modules. Also, memory module capacities supported are 128MB and 256MB with a Maximum memory of 512MB. If the current memory installed is 128MB, you need to order 2x 256MB modules to replace/upgrade both memory slots. If the installed capacity is 256MB, you just need another 256MB for the slot underneath the laptop.

Check "Removing the Keyboard" for guide removing the keyboard to access the 2nd memory slot.

Read "Preparing to Work Inside the Computer" before committing to the above procedure.

Let me know how you get on.
