Usb driver needed for lg ku990 - Cell Phones

Please follow this procedure

(need KU311 USB cable)

* open shell LG QUALCOM TOOL,
* select mode KU990
* conect phone (PHONE MUST BE ON)
* install driver HERE
* click read NVM for backup
* click UNLOCK and wait until the process is DONE.

OR

- Open LG UMTS Tools
- Select Phone model
- Install Modem Usb Driver HERE
- Go to settings Connectivity Select data service mode
- Search Phone
- Tick Unlock
- Unlock Select New Algoritm
- Phone Unlock Done

This 2 methods depends on the update of your software,so i gave 2 options to choose.

If you are trying to connect your LG KU990 with Data Service, you have to isntall the drivers for it. The drivers should have come with the small CD.

If you want to change to Mass Storage mode: Menu>Settings>Phone Settings>Connectivity>USB Connection Mode>Mass Storage.

Change to usb mode

To change the USB Connection Mode:

Go to the menu > 4th tab > Phone settings > Connectivity > USB connection mode

It should work without drivers ;)

Download this USB driver for the Viewty:

LG KU990 viewty firmware download:
LG KU990 - V10a - 05-11-2007

Now your PC will 'recognise' it as a Viewty and not just as an 'Unknown Device'.

ps that firmware is stored at megaupload, so if you're not registered with that site, just wait the 60 seconds or so to begin download.. No sense in 'paying' for access to free drivers!

In the menu of the phone, select Phone Setting, then Connectivity, then you will be able to see "USB connection mode" menu. If you select "Mass storage" in this menu, your phone will react as a normal USB key drive on your system.
It worked for my XP, or Ubuntu machine.

Otherwise, if you select "Data service" in the USB connection mode, you need LG PCsuite software installed to be able to communicate with it. This PCsuite is downloadable in LG web site.
