No heater for tv model no.SV2918

Check the continuity of the CRT heater [pin 1~8]. If it is found open, no need to proceed. If it has continuity, check the AC voltage there when the LOT works. Should have about 6.2VAC. If not, check all the solder terminals and series resisotr. connected to this bus. Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. Hi.. Mine is a sansui tv and I bought it 3 years back. Now it is showing a horizontal line on the screen. Sound is fine but I can't see the picture, I just see one white horizontal line on tv...

The problem is vertical failure. Vertical output section to your TV ahs the fault. You ahve to check the vertcial output circuit for any component failure or loose solderings.

We have a 27" MTS Stereo color TV. There are white horizontal lines at the top of the screen. We do have a DVR with Direct TV. How do we fix?

U can't.Only horizontal lines on the top parts of the tv screen or the lower parts of the picture screen.Or very light horizontal lines mix in with the tv screen pictures. The "CRT" the picture tube is slowly dying of old age.Quicker than they supose to.The late 90" these problems case show up alot more in standard tvs using CRT tube.Because the CRT and analog design about to be faze out of the market place. The glass molding and those radiation matrials, they used to make those "CRT" picture tube materials, not as good as before.

Tv beginning to flash green with horizontal white lines

From your description it sounds like a bad picture tube. The lines are called retrace lines. There is a small chance that a component on the small board that connects to the neck of the tube may be bad. Without model number information it is very difficult so say further. Some picture tubes can be re-jeuvenated with the appropriate machine ( at a TV repar shop)
If you feel adventurous and are careful you might try GENTLY tapping the neck of the tube and see if picture improves/goes out. If the tapping does change the picture it is definitely the tube

Horizontal White Line

Sounds like something is getting hot causing voltage loss or drive pulse loss to the vertical IC. Maybe you have a bad solder joint. Try tapping the circuit board around the vertical section. A capacitor could be heating and opening up. Stargazer Also you might try using circuit cooler spray and make the problem show up.
