Check driver manager and make sure the drivers havent been deleted, if they have just search for acr drivers on google then go to the actual acer website and get them

The "mouse" pad on my Acer Aspire 5920 laptop has suddenly stopped working. What can I do to mend it

You can try pressing the Fn + F7 key to activate it, if that does not help you can check in the BIOS if the touchpad is disabled.

Thank you for choosing Fixya

Unresponsive keyboard + mouse pad

I guess you have a mechanical problem, sounds like the mother board have some issues on starting all devices.

If you could use keyboard to go in the bios, and see the screen, if would be the OS that need to be repaired.

Hit the Fn (funtion key) HOLD it down WHILE pushing the F7 Key - this will turn your touchpad back on.

For the complete manual for your computer:

Water drop in notebook

since mouse pads are not waterproof and the manufacters have the bad habit to place motherboards under them you propably damaged it....
But you should give a try and take off the pad(pc off)and clean the surfaces topic with a contact cleaner product...if this not work you'll need a new m/b :-(
