Good afternoon I am uploading photos onto my desktop from my Sanyo VPC-T1060 and am having problems. When I turn on my camera the pc screen on the camera will not pop up for the longest time. Eventually it will flash on the screen and then the camera will turn off. Do you know what is happening?

it is your camera properly connected with pc? sometimes it also make your directory for ur camera can't detect if your cable have problem or your pc have port problem

Try to remove the memory card if used, and blowing out the connectors in the camera cavity with compressed air (to remove dust if any).

Make sure the contacts are clean. If necessary try another memory card.

I'm not sure about the lcd screen, except it may require service from sanyo.com.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, etc. Take your camera with you to get the correct size.

I noticed that the Users Manual for the VPCT1060 mentions that you must select PC from your cameras menu after you plug the usb cable in.

Step by step directions are available in the VPC-T1060 Users Manual.

The Sanyo VPC-T1060 Users Manual states that once the camera is connected to the computer with usb, you can select PC Camera from the camera's menu, to activate webcam mode.

The Users Manual for the Sanyo VPC-T1060 suggests that drivers are not required to transfer pictures to your computer. Once the camera is connected you must select PC from the cameras menus system, at which time your camera will turn up in windows explorer as a removable storage device.

You need a manual for the VPC T1060? This must be a camera no longer supported by Sanyo. I went to the website to get your manual, and I can't find it listed anywhere. You posted this question under the VPC T700 catagory. Is that the model you meant to get? If so, the link for the manual is here.
